5 weeks flowering - Opinions wanted.

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Ice Goddess, Jan 21, 2010.

  1. First - hypothetical - grow in soil entering week 5 flowering since first sign of flowers. This was some bagseed that hit the spot so we decided - hypothetically of course - to grow some. The ladies began life on 10-12-09 and entered 12/12 on 12-2-09. Currently inside a grow box with 25,600 lumens of 2700 spectrum CFL's. 12/12 cycle and have only been given organic nutrients (diluted urine and potash). PH 6.8 and currently only being given water and potash. Tested soil 2 weeks ago and N was high but P and K looked in good ranges. Flushed roots last week and we are getting ready to test the soil again tomorrow or Friday.
The plants are about 3ft tall. Some of the plants are showing ambering pistils and trichomes on the buds on about half the plants are 50% clear and 50% cloudy, so we assume another 3 weeks or more.
    Questions:
    • Based on the trichome colors are we safe saying 3+ weeks or could we be sooner?
    • Do the buds look good for week 5?
    • Some of the fan leaves have began to pale in color and have spots on them. They are also becomming thin like rice paper. Is this normal or could it be possible heat damage (yellow spots)? Some areas are very close to the lights due to space.
    • Our inner leaves are a very dark green and some have purple/red stems that show in the leaf veins. Look pretty but is this a sign of health or deficency?
    • Are we correct to assume these are Indica or a Indica dominant hybrid?

  2. Wow, only those two nutes? How much and how often?
Looks good to me, but then again my first grow went horrible :/

  3. We began with a 10:1 water to urine ratio. We take a multi vitamin a few hours before and we have read a lot of info on how good it is and it worked great. In veg we did every third watering with urine/water. In flowering we were doing every week with 2Tbsp potash until our N went to high so we are waiting to flush that. We will prob just dilute more but heck yeah its free and let me tell you the buds taste fabulous -hypothetically of course - and are smooth.

  4. Yeah always prefer the taste of organic over none.
    Well good luck!

  5. damn man..not looking too good...wilted, leaves turning...the piss thing is a no go....i bet youll get an oz. not trying to be a dick but next time id lay off the leak..

  6. Yea deff. My own opinion is they may have to much nitrogen. Since that is what keeps leaves green, and by the looks of it them leaves seem pretty dark to me. Im not 100% on that but thats my guess. Up the potassium, check it out first though.

  7. they look ok... i just cant tell for shit what im looking at... its just a bunch of branches... How many plants do you have?

mine are a few weeks ahead of yours (like 7.5-8 weeks) and they look similar... my plant (at least one of them) hasnt produced much "sugar" on the leaves like yours... it must be genetics.. other than that from what i can see they look alright, just dont pee on em' anymore and youll be good prolly

  8. i know for a fact pig urine is good for plants, and has lots of N in it, but i never heard of ppl using human urine, i always heard that human urine is like dog urine, it kills the grass so why would it make weed grow?

and personally for week 5, they look more like week 3 imo, but im used to fast maturing plants maybe those are 10-12 week-ers

  9. Dont use urine on your plants......Nitrogen overload

  10. 6 plants her age in 3 gallon pots. We tested the soil today and N is back to a good range - Low.

  11. LOL piss weed.
That reminds me of cheech and chong smoking dog shit.:D

  12. They are slow growing. They are approximately at about week 3-4 so they are behind your real schedule. Do not plan on them being 8 weeks to maturity. 10-12.

Interesting results for water and piss. Personally I'm not going that route.

  13. We looked up some week 4 flowering photos and we agree that these look close to week 4 also. The N is back down to a healthy range so I think we are good. It also gives us hope to think we still have lots of time. We needed some bud so we cut some to try it and ooooohhhh man if she can do that at 5 weeks then I dont care how big her buds get as long as they keep coming.:hello:

  14. yeah i would have to say the same here, thats what mine looked like at 3 weeks but not as tall more bushy and dank

  15. :pI like Big Dark Bushes!!!

  16. Eh, they look VERY stretched and unhealthy, sorry. The side growth looks terrible and even the big fan leaves look sick. It's natural for the fan leaves to die during flowering, but they don't get spots like that.

  17. I think your plants are going to have light fluffly buds not real heavy dense nugs and like the guy a couple of before mine they dont look that good I would definitly not use piss good organis nutes arent that expensive

  18. Thanks for the advice so far. We went out today and got PBPB and will see how this works. We will post more pics in a week or 2 to show progress of our little girls.

  19. Isnt N suppose to be lower in flower time?

And since urine has a lot of nitrogen in it.. that could be why they are going slow..

    Just a guess though :S
