i've always put about ten in the bottom and ten around the bottom edge about 2 inches up layer the bottom of the bucket with about an inch of river rocks to allow for good drainage.. please note i do water every day though some people don't have this luxury so you may want to drill less if your not going to be able to water as much.....happy tokin!
