  1. well i have this female northern lights, and it is 5 days old and a couple days after it sprouted, the round leaf had turned brown and basically fallen off....now the other round leaf is starting to do that same thing.....sorry the pics arnt so good but maybe someone can see them and tell me what the problem is.

Also i have link attached at the very bottom with a picture that shows how big it is.....is that normal size for 5 days old?

  2. i may be wrong cause im new here too. im sure someone else with mor knowledge will stop by. i dont think those two little guys last forever. i think they just feed plant for first few weeks, then you gotta use a very diluted nut solution. i think it fine..

  3. any other opinions please?!?!?!

  4. its probably nothing to worry about because those leaves fall off eventually, so as long as the top leaves are healthy youre probably gonna be good

  5. That's perfectly normal, nothing to worry about. I would leave it until it falls off on its own. Those are called Cotyledons and they feed the plant while it produces it's first couple sets of true leaves. Once those are in place, the plant has no need for them so they start to turn brown and fall off.

I am growing Northern Lights too, and I am a few weeks ahead of you. I had a problem with my soil right off the bat, so the growth of my plants was stunted for about 2 weeks after sprouting. It looked like yours does now after about 2 and a half weeks, a few days after i transplanted it. So all in all, I would say your doing better than mine was at that stage. Congrats!:)

  6. Its just a little bit of tip burn. I wouldnt worry about it much, but if you are, do a couple flushes with Reverse Osmosis water with a PH of around 6.2. That should flush out any nutes you may have in there that might be too strong for the little one.

I have plants that are 2 months old and in flowering that still have there cotyledon leaves in tact.

So it's nothing serious unless it spreads. Keep an eye on it and if it spreads do a couple flushes as I suggested above. A plant that small doesnt need to be feed any nutrients right now. Once it gets its first 3-set of leaves, then start giving it a little nutes.

  7. alright well thanks for the advice ...appreciate it
