4X4 Tent Setup Advice

  1. I have a 4x4 tent I'd like to set up.

Ive got a 4" 155CFM Canfan, 6" axial fan, 1000W Dimmable Ace ballast, 8" air cooled reflector.

Just need a carbon filter and possibly another fan. What I want to know is if an axial fan can pull air through a carbon filter, cuz if it can I can just use that. Otherwise I'll need to purchase another fan and a filter, and i'm strapped for cash.

My tent sits right under my attic access, which has my range hood ducting going outside right beside the access, so I'm going to stick a Y-adapter on there and exhaust my tent to that.

    Should I go

light > duct > inline filter > duct > canfan in attic to y adapter

or keep my filter and light on separate runs?

I guess I have most of it figured.. just need to know if my 6" axial fan is going to be enough or if I need to buy a 6" canfan.

  2. What's up man, sounds like a nice setup you have. I would keep smell and heat separate so you can use smaller fans on each system instead of having a bigger fan that has to do both. So in this case it would be:
    Duct>Light>Duct Out>Fan
    &
    Filter>Duct Out>Fan

I may have misunderstood but it sounds like you will need a 8">6" reducer for your fan/cool hood combo.
