4x4 tent - FFOF soil - HLG 600H QB - Deadhead OG grow

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by DimaEVT, Mar 4, 2019.

  1. Hey guys, this is going to be my 4th grow. Here's the setup:

    - Gorilla grow tent - 4x4x7
    - HLG 600h Quantum Board - 620watts
    - 6" inline fan (340 cfm) as exhaust w/ carbon filter (passive intake from the bottom of the tent)
    - oscillating 16" fan

STRAINS: Deadhead OG from Cali Connection seeds

Light schedule is 18/6 during veg and 12/12 for flower.

I'll be watering with tap water PH'd @ ~6.5 and feeding my plants every other watering until the flowering stage, then I will feed more frequently.

I will be growing 6 plants. I will be starting out the seedlings in solo cups using FF Happy Frog soil. Around day 19, I will be transplanting them to 3 gallon pots using a mix of 80% Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil and 20% perlite.

For the first 2-3 weeks, I am growing in my closet, using a single Viparspectra V300 LED. Once I transplant they will be moved to the 4x4 tent

I won't give them any nutes during the veg stage. I plan to veg them for only 35ish days, and there's plenty of nutrients in the soil for a 30 day veg. During flower, I will be using Botanicare pure blend pro (bloom), bud candy, big bud and overdrive.

Here we go! Day 4 from seed 20190303_101528.jpg

  2. I'm in on this. I like the idea of starting with the vipar. It would be difficult to start with the 600 watt qb even dimmed. You almost need a fabric shield for seedlings.

  3. Yeah when I transplant them in 3gals, they will go underneath the QB. I plan to dim it to 50% and then slowly increase it over the coming weeks

  4. Day 9 from seed

Off to a good start. 1 of the 6 did not sprout so I planted one of my old girl scout cookies seeds to replace it. It's the smaller one 20190308_091432.jpg

  7. Day 20 from seed

Transplanted them to 3gals. It went very smoothly. Heres a pic 12 hours after transplant. They look great! 20190319_130246.jpg

  8. Day 23 from seed

Not much growth in the last few days. Still settling into their new homes I guess 20190322_091611.jpg

  9. Most likely at day 33-35. I'm gonna top them tomorrow, that will slow them down a bit

    Day 24 from seed

Topped them all except the bottom middle plant. Gonna top that one in a day or two. My temps have been in the low-mid 80s with the lights on. Not too happy about that.

  11. That's a tad warm eh?

What is your ambient temperature outside?

Beginning of day 27 from seed.

The girls woke up looking fantastic. I think they are beginning to explode.

I still haven't given them any nutes. I might give them a min dose of cal-mag next watering - although there's really no need, given how nice and green they look.

Also, the top center plant has a few messed up leaves due to the thermostat falling and crushing it at day 14 or so. It remained crushed for almost a day. I was about to throw it out but it managed to recover and is now thriving.

I'm gonna flip the lights when the plants are a little over a foot tall (i'm guessing 2 weeks at most). I don't want them to exceed 3 feet tall after the flowering stretch.

  13. My ambient temps are ~70F during day and ~63F at night

It's strange -- I set my thermostat on the floor (instead of on the pots) and the temps dropped 11 degrees! The temps are showing ~79F on the floor, so I imagine its 80 or 81 from the plant's level, which are a foot above the floor. In any case, my plants are showing no signs of heat stress. All is well.

  14. I have a similar light setup to you. Ill be following along!

I've also been slowly increasing the power on my QB. I started out at 50% power when I transplanted, and now i'm at 75% power. I'm gonna keep turning the dial little by little and if the plants show any stress, I will dial back the power. Lights are about 30 inches from canopy

  16. I have a 600H hooked up to 4 qb96s, i didnt turn it all the way up til a couple days in flower. I tried a few times and they always got stressed in veg, even after 45 days in veg.
