Im currently using 4x t-12 40w daylight bulbs in my two fixtures 48", ive started some Irianinan Chemdog from seed and they seem to be doing ok. but was just wondering is the light put out by these bulbs good enough for Veg, or should i get t-5 instead, i bought the t-12 because i couldnt find the t-5s at home depot or lowes.
Defintely go with a T5 HO set up, you`l find them at grow shops and online, they do cost more but they also put out alot more light then a T12 set up. I use my T5 HO set for small clones, seedlings and short term veg growth to about 2 feet then I put them under my MH/HPS light set up. If using T5`s for both veg and flower you will need to switch the veg bulbs to flower bulbs to get the right light spectrum for better flowering results.
