In Spring 2019 I started my first ever grow. Without putting too much thoughts into it, I instinctively decided to go with two feminized seeds outdoors. One is a Special Kush #1 (Royal Queen seeds) and the other a Jack Herer (Seedsman freebie).

I am located just below the 46th North parallel and I am starting to be concerned that my plants are not going to be flowering in time before winter, especially the Jack Herer with its advertised 63 days of flowering versus 49-56 days for the S.Kush #1.

If I reasonably assume an end of the “season” around mid October, my Jack Herer has to start flowering no later than mid August. Well, nature says it won’t happen at 46°N

I know that people have been growing cannabis outside in my area for ever, long before Autoflowers and Early Harvest, but I cannot speak of its quality as I have absolutely no idea.

Because I started them inside before transplanting them in their final 30-gallon smart pot outside, my 10-week old plants are more than 6’ tall from the ground up.

I am not willing to artificially force flowering by building a light cover, it would just be too much work and would rather take my loss and start over next year with autoflowers. Also, I think the plants are already too big and heavy to be moved inside.

I do not want to end up with shitty brick weed, and I would like to know if there is anything I can do except keeping them healthy hoping for the best and.

    I'm around the 45 parallel
Depends on your strain Indica or Sativa. Indica dominate strains Mid august for flower. Around the second week in October for harvest. Sativa later by a couple weeks. Say end of October early November for sativa harvest.

No reason to do anything it'll happen as soon as we reach 14.5 hrs of daylight. Your plants will most likely double in size once they flower.
If possible I would also think of someway to cover them, clear reinforced plastic work really well for this. If your growing Sativa dominant strains you might have to do to frost. Plus plastics nice to keep the moisture off your buds due to wet morning dew and rain. It gets really damp around harvest time.

Keep them healthy and happy the rest will take care of itself.

    HTH best of luck Puff
