Well today i remembered having two HPS ballasts stashed away in my moms shed. they have been there for a couple years sitting and unknown what kinda usage they have prior to me getting them. i plugged in both ballast both kick on and seem to work. ill need a cord and socket to find out for sure. after inspection i found that they are both 430watt HPS. one is a sunlight supply the other is a diamond horticulture light with selectable voltage. These ballast were free so no news will be bad news regarding quality or ability to use them. just glad i remebered i had these stashed before i droped a couple hundred on a new hps system. Any suggestions on where to by ballast parts?(socket and plug) What bulbs will i have to buy?(400 or 430) 430 i assume but havnt seen anyone else using these.
The 430w bulbs actually have 2 bulbs in one, a 400w HPS and a small 30w MH bulb to give some blue spectrum. AFAIK they are actually top notch equipment. You need a 430w son agro bulb for them.
