Hey guys! Perhaps this is already mentioned, but since this is for absolute beginners, I think it is good to really start with the basics. Like we all know weed and we all smoke it But many beginners don't know the different types of "marijuana". This is only to help people and learn more about marijuana. I will update it regularly. TYPES OF MARIJUANA: Marijuana is one of the only annual plants to have two different sexes. This means that plants can come in both male and female varieties, and even occasionally hermaphroditic varieties that have both male and female reproductive organs. There are also three major species of marijuana: ` Indica: Relatively short and wide, with greener colors and round leaves that have marble-like patterns. Provides a heavy, body high. Looks small & bushy. ` Sativa: Can grow taller, but are thinner with more pointed leaves that don’t have patterns on them. Provides an energetic, cerebral high. Looks tall & thin. ` Ruderalis: Lesser known than the other two. Small plants, used primarily for making clothes, rope, etc. Each of these types of marijuana has its own properties when it comes to actually using it. One of the largest indicators of potency for a particular plant is its THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) content. This is essentially the stuff that provides the soothing, medicinal qualities that many people associate with cannabis. In general, most growers use indica, sativa, or hybrid varieties of the two. Ruderalis generally gets left out of any cannabis cultivation because it lacks a high amount of THC. Also, it should be pointed out that the female sex on the cannabisplant is most prized by growers because of its high THC content. In general, the THC in female plants rises when the plant remains unpollinated. It will produce more flowers, more buds, and more THC resin, making the eventual smoke much more potent by the time of harvest. There are also plenty of other natural chemicals on a marijuana plant that influence the kind of high you receive. These chemicals are referred to as cannabinoids, and they interact with your cognitive and physical functions to produce altered states of mind and being. Growing the plants under ideal conditions will promote high-quality THC production in your female plants. Indica/Sativa hybrids like Skunk, Northern Lights, Orange Bud, and Blueberry are very popular. Next time we will delve in what you need for growing your own marijuana.
Lol, that was my first thought as well. Edit: also, it’s not that the female plant has higher thc, the reason people want female is because it’s literally the only way you’re getting buds as the male plant doesn’t produce buds. Some more research is needed there bud. (Good play on words eh... lol). Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Pretty obvious how the OP regards pot by his Avatar. Box of McNuggets?!! How can I say this politely . . . FOAD!
It's puzzled translators of ancient languages for centuries but in the late pre-interweb age has become commonly known as what was previously considered speculatively as the Germantic 'Fug oofeneindeis' which was 'Mine daughter for yours' but later proven to be related to the Swedish Fugen obermisen which loosely translates as 'Yo Momma!'. It was later found in an old Celtic curse that when translated to modern English is generally meant to mean . . . Fack Off And Die and in modern English was refined to . . . Fuck Off And Die. Fuck of course referring to the acronym for the archaic law used to harass prostitutes known as 'For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge'. At the very least my last sentence has some basis in reality. Google that shit man!
Let me help this guy out. Sativa, cerebral head high. Native to equatorial and tropical regions. Grows tall and lanky. This plant when less than 4% THC is called hemp. Produces fibers that are made into rope, textiles and paper. Landrace varieties high in THC: Durban Poison, Punta Roja, Thai, Mexican, Acapulco Gold. Many more... Indica, Body stone, often described as couchlock. Native to mountainous regions of India, Asia, and Africa. Grows short and bushy. This plant is the original medicinal, ritualistic and recreational cannabis plant. Late 19th and early 20th centuries it was referred to as Indian Hemp. It has been found in 2700 year old tomb in northeast China. Scientists tested the cannabis and concluded that it was cultivated for psychoactive affect. Indian Hemp was a part the American pharmacopia until the racially biased Marijuana Tax Stamp Act made it illegal in 1937. Ruderalis, no psychoactive affect at all. Known as ditch weed. Native to Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. This variety of cannabis is non photo-period. Also known as auto flowering. Grows very small plants with little to no THC. This plant was crossed with more potent sativa and indica varieties to create our modern autoflower strains.
