40g rubbermaid DWC bubble ponics closet cfl/led grow

    Started this new grow using equipment i already had. No carbon filter yet had to order some ducting. The plants im growing are afghani kush non fem and fem/auto quick one from royal queen seeds. This is my first grow let me know what yall think.[​IMG]

    Lookin good im rocking with a tote box atm as well haha.

    Whats your lighting at? Im currently running 4x 23 watt CFL and one plant LST for my micro grow experiment

    A lot of people boo aluminum foil and to be fair it is terrible looking but i have made many diy greenhouses over the years for flowering plants and it works for me since its a pain to get mylar where I am

    Aluminum foil does a fine job in small scale grows like this, any bigger and i would recommend taking a drive down to ur local home depot for mylar or order online.

    You can go to Dollar General or family dollar and get a couple of those large $3 or $4 mylar windshield shade covers. 2 would do that entire tub, top, bottom, and sides. It's easy to work with and reflects really well.

    Im using 2 ecosmart 14w cfls they run a bit cooler and give better light even at lower wattage. Along with 2 high power custom made reef aquarium led strips. They used to be on my reef tank but a few of the diodes burnt out and i upgraded so i reused these for my grow

    As a side thought if my afghani turns out to be male i might manually pollinate one of the quick one autos to eventually create a new indica strain. Any recommendations for this?

    Replanted everythin in coco coir mix. I hydrated the coco coir in miracle grow nute solution for flowers and then added perlite after draining excess water. Meet my security staff for my grow room[​IMG][​IMG][​IMG]

    So I have been in withdrawal from Zoloft (I forgot to refill my prescription im an idiot) If you have never detoxed off of a high dosage of SSRI's it feels a bit like this: Drink about 2 bottles of vodka and then smoke 8 cigarettes in a row and chase it down with a side order of extreme vertigo. Thats what its like but while I was falling over ill I decided to be creative to pass the time

    I made a DIY carbon air filter out of a water jug a ducting fan and some ducting. The jug is filled with activated charcoal and small bits of aquarium filter sponge.[​IMG][​IMG][​IMG]

    I tested to see if this works by lighting a small peice of paper on fire in the box. As expected the smoke was sucked away immediately and there was almost no smell at all
