  3. Never mind.. Went with 400

  4. hope you got a switchable 600 ballast..

  5. No why should I have? I don't ever want to use 600w I mean 400w should be good for 3ft by 4ft shouldn't it.

  6. should be good....but 600 would get you more bud

  7. I would have gone with 600 but need to save electricity $ so ill see what happens with 400 hps for now and if I need to put a few CFLs or something on the sides for more lights ill add them. But it's just 2 plants that aren't too big so ill see.

  8. 400 watt + hydroponics + ScrOG = All you need

  9. If you ordered online, back out. Do your self a favor and buy a digital 600w dimable ballast. You can run 300w/450w/600w. The 450 is damn close to a 400, you have a setting lower, and when you get close to the end of flower you can crank it to 600 for those extra grams...

If your vegging the 600w mh will out grow a 400 speed wise, so an extra 200w/kwh may cut your vegging days by a week or 2 depending on room.

Also the 600w would cover your area better.

  10. in case you want to upgrade. you can switch to 600 with the dial instead of buying a 600w ballast

  11. I regret not just buying my 600 watt dimmable HID light before the 400 watt. 600 watt HID is far more efficient in terms of light you get for what you spend to run it. 400 watt is about 50,000 lumens, 600 watt 95,000 lumens. It's the most efficient of the HID lights in terms of lumen/watt I believe.

Also, for a 3x4 area the 600 will out preform the 400 by a long shot. 400 watt lights have a 2'x2' footprint before they start dropping off in efficiency and light penetration, whereas a 600 watt has a 3'x3' footprint before dropping off.
