I just got it from homedepot and put it in my Sun System 2 dual ballast and it doesn't seem near as bright as the HPS bulb. is it supposed to be like this?
MH is not as bright as HPS. At least i dont think so. When i do my switch im always amazed at how much brighter my hps seems.
Ok cool thanks. Yeah i just started some new plants and decided i get a MH to start them out right. I tried looking all over the web but i couldnt find any info on it.
if i can remember correctly 400 watt MH bulbs put off around 28000-33000 lumens. where as HPS bulbs of the same wattage give off 51000-55000 lumens. the only reason MH bulbs are used is that they are of a better spectrum of light for vegetative state. 2100/2700 Kelvin.
