so i moved to a 400 watt hps. long long over due, i used to use a 70 watt HPS home depot light(i know not very good, but not bad for a 70$ hps i think) also with alot of cfls as well. anyway my question is what is the best distance i should keep my 400 watt hps to the plants.heat is not really an issue. im just looking for best distance to use for max light output i know this question has been asked before. i would just like to be 100% sure thanks
i was thinking 1 to 1 and a half feet from light to tops? is this too close? i have a fan blowing right between the tops and light and i keep my temp around 76f in my grow room yes/no?
you wanna stay around 20 inches and move it up to 1 foot away by the end of flowering , or if you have a cooltube i hear you can get it as close as 6-8 inches!
I have 2 400watt hps cool tubes.. i do a foot above the plants so i can get enough light on all of them, while not burning them.. and it works well for me..
well with the sun reflector ive got i can keep mine on the glass without burning but i have a 6" fan for just that light
