none alot of people keep there planted seeds in the dark until they see something pop through the soil and then they put it under light immediately. When they pop just put them under a few cfls
You could start with just one CFL, 23-26w true (100w equivalent), start about 6 inches away and move slowly closer until it is within 1-2 inches by 10 days. You will need more light after that.
Yes, as long as you are referring to a 100 equivalent watt CFL, not a 100w incandescent bulb or something else.
