  1. hey guys i just purchased a 300 Watt CFL E40 Grow Light , at the moment i have a small grow tent which is 1mx80x80, i use this for putting seeds and cuttings into, now i have 10 seeds at the moment and some of them are starting to show, i have a 125 Watt CFL E40 Grow Light about 2-3in above the plants. i was justing wondering if this was giving them enough lumens or should i switch it to the 300 Watt CFL E40 Grow Light that i have just bought. one of the seeds has become streched like its looking for the light but the others that are showing seem fine, its about twice as tall as the other ones and im afraid it might just fall over. shoul i put this new 300 Watt CFL E40 Grow Light in this small space or should i just leave it with the 125 Watt CFL E40 Grow Light. im afraid it might be to much but is there such a thing as to much?

    thanks happylarry

  3. There is indeed such a thing as too much light, but it's hard to achieve with CFLs.

It would be nice if they gave a lumen number on those lamps, because that's the real number you need to know about the light. Wattage is really a measure of electrical use. On old incandescent lights, it related to light produced more than it does on modern flourescents.

So they might be enough, it's definitely not too much, likely is not enough by itself to grow big juicy plants.
