Hey there! This is my first grow and I just wanted some feedback on how it’s doing. I feel like my plant isn’t doing as well as it should in comparison to many that I see on this forum and from a few videos. I was wondering if it’s perhaps the strain (Super Blueberry Haze) or if it’s just my own error. So I’m planting in FoxFarm ocean forest soil and watering with purified water and Liquid Seaweed pH to around 6.7-6.9. I've been using a 60Watt equivalent LED light from seedling to present. My setup is in a 36x36 grow tent, I have a small USB fan until it grows and then I’ll upgrade the fan. It’s currently 75% humidity and anywhere from 75-85 degree Fahrenheit. It’s hard to keep it consistent with the fluctuating weather this winter. It seems a bit tall and lanky with minimal fan leaves, but granted it’s still pretty young. Any feedback would be great! (the standalone image is current, December 28th) the green tick marks show the number of inches so it stands around 6in atm.
I’ve turned off the lightbulb this morning and turned on my MarsHydro 300Watt LED for an 18 hour cycle
Hi there I feel like your doing good. I'm getting ready to put one plant today in my grow tent. I had one out of 7 seeds take Northern lights. Do you know if you can reuse peat pods? What did you do first with your seeds exactly. Thank you. Sent from my SM-A505U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I have northern lights too, I’m gonna germinate one once this one is nearing the end of flower. I germinated mine the basic way— wet paper towel inside of a ziploc bag. Placed it on top of towel over a heating pad so it wouldn’t overheat. The seed germinated in 3 days with the tap root around 1/4-1/2 inch long and I placed it in a cup of my soil. After it grows into the cup I intend on transporting it to a 1 gallon pot with soil mix and I’ll activate/water with compost tea. As far as I’ve researched, peat pellets aren’t meant to be reused. But I know people reuse rock wool when their seeds didn’t germinate (so long as it wasn’t a sick seed or something) and it turns out okay. I’m using rock wool for my other non cannabis plants and they’re doing pretty well.
Maybe it’s just me but it looks like there over due for transplant. I usually take mine out of the cups and into air pot when the leaves reach the edge of the cup. Def need better lights too Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
If you can put your light closer without making to hot at the top of the plants do that. But it just looks like shes stretching out for more light. A stronger light is what she's asking for.
Try the Mars first I know a couple people that use them with great results Sent from my SM-G960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Repot her and bury the stems a bit. So she won't be as lanky. Plenty of light and patience lol.. they will grow quicker once you repot tho . Sent from my SM-G925F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Hey mate, my seedlings broke ground on the 8th so our grows are a similar age, looks like you're a little behind me but it's definitely the light situation. You say you have a 60w equivalent? That must be 7w or 8w LED, you need to be paying attention to the actual watts (or better yet the lumens) instead of the equivalent because that's comparing them to incandescent bulbs which cant be grown with so the equivalent isn't useful. You could make that LED bulb work but it needs to be super close. I'm growing with 2 10w LED bulbs (75w equivalent if you want to compare that to your equivalent) and they're maybe 2" away from my plants. I also have a cheap shitty LED board from aliexpress that apparently only pulls 8w. If I'm right in assuming it's a household LED like mine, I highly suggest taking the dome off the top of it so the light is pointing in one direction. I'll attach a picture incase you haven't seen my recent post in the forums for you to look at. My first grow was a single plant that was male so if you forget about that, this will be my first actual grow. Basically, if you take the dome off and put it a couple inches away from your plant, you could happily start a seedling under that bulb.
Wi Oh for sure lol. I was hoping to keep the cost down for my first time. If I ever progress then I’ll look into updating the light. Thanks!
Hit the nail on the head lol. Your grow is way more developed! I’ll look into adjusting that light. I’ll make a new post in due time once this gets more mature. Thanks for the tips!
