hy all i have a 3 foot by 2 foot grow room it is about 5 ft high im running cfls for veg with a home made hood and it gets about mid 80s during the day still a little warm out it has a 4 inch exhaust pulling and a comp fan forced air in when i turn to flower will a 400 watt hps be to much or should i get a 250 watt for that size room i dont know if my hood has anything to do with it but the size of my hood is 24 inches by 14 inches not much room on sides for heat to escape ordering light today any help would be great ty

Remember with hps and mh the lights have to be a good distance from the plants I believe 6 to 10 inches. I have never used hps or mh so someone with more knowledge might be of more help
I prefer Ho floros because you can get the light closer, and that allows way more light to penetrate to the lower branches in my opinion. But with the limited space you have it a hps/mh setup would probably be better.
