3.2 Mm Roor Vs. 5 Mm Medicali

The medicali would be more durable because the glass is 5mm thick as opposed to the roor which is only 3.2mm.

 

The medicali is thicker​

It has a diffused downstem (i can't see if the roor has)​

The base looks a lot sturdier​

The joint where the downstem fits into the bong looks so much more solid​

The bowl is a lot more adequate than the roor's party size bowl... hate those​

It just looks like better quality/build​

With all that said, I have a Highline (german glass) bong which is around 4/5mm on the tube but thinner on the beaker (like around 3/3.5mm) which is my main piece, i've changed the downstem to a Grace Glass slitted downstem and got a better bowl. I've been bringing it out quite a lot recently and it's still not broken. Just be careful, that's the only choice you have with GoG bongs
 
 
Edit: If you get the Roor, get a diffused downstem (showerhead, slits etc.. whatever you want) but make sure it's the right length. I tell you, the diffused downstem makes such a difference (easier to hit, more filtered smoke, just better). And you'll probably get another bowl, big ones are a pain when you toke all on your own

Medicali is a US brand right? And Roor is german. I never hear about Medicali around here (live in europe) but apparently it's a very good brand, good quality, not overpriced.

I have a Medicalli and it is fantastic. Sturdy as hell, I could crack some skulls with it and smoke it waiting for the cops to come lol. I also love the single person bowl, can easily be packed twice and not hard to clean. Definitely vote for Medicalli as well, I don't care for Roor, just a name. 

 

medicali because it's thicker glass. Roor because you want to impress everyone on GC with pics of your new bong.

 

out of the those two get the medicali but imo if your just getting a beaker like that, go with a brand like hvy. still great quality and a respected name brand, for half the price. ive had a beaker by wrkd, a sister company of hvy for over a year and still use it every day.
 
for the price your going to drop on either of those why not go with a better diffused, more interesting piece?

 

I own a ROOR custom lil sister. 3.2mm thick.

I use mine on the go almost exclusively as I'm never home and Iv never had any issues with it. Just buy a ROOR soft case to hold it and you should be fine. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to buy a solid first quality piece.

The joints on ROORs are reinforced and are thicker than the rest of the bong. While they do makes straight cut downstems, it's highly advised you get a diffused one (the German ones usually come as standard with a diffused downstem, unsure about American ones).

At the end of the day, if you throw your glass around and treat it like a toy, it's going to break. Just treat it with respect and you'll never have a problem.

I vote for the medicali, simply because I own a medicali showerhead ashcatcher. The glass is extremely thick, it's taken a few falls, some onto concrete, and it still works just like the day I bought it

 

If you live in the US, you're probably better off getting the medicali from a US store/website to avoid paying the shipping from overseas which increases the cost of a roor significantly.
 
IMO there is no American Roor and German Roor.  It's german or it's not a real roor to me.  IMO Roor really stands for the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality control.  I can usually tell american roortechs from german ones by the sig alone.  A shitty sig means american, a good one is usually german (good color, clarity, good shape and placement).
 
If you're getting a basic beaker (really should be called a flask) or straight tube, either tube would be better with a diffused downstem.  You can buy just a down stem from various sites.  Alex K makes showerhead downstems, sovereignty makes some gridded ones, the german roor diffuser downstem is good.  The use a closed end and then handpoke the holes, this is better and functions correctly unlike handpoked diffuser downstems with an open end. 

 

I vote for the medicali piece....but the roor diffusor's are great.

I just wanted to comment on those saying that roors come standard with diffused down stems, on Grass City at least, that is not the case. I have a 3.2mm 14 inch roor that's in the mail right now and it comes standard with the non diffuser stem. I also looked at all of the little sista's and none of them on Grass City come with the diffused stem so maybe it's different on another site but not if you're planning on ordering from GC. 

 

I have the Lil Sista in question and this is correct. Based on that, I'd go Medicali if it's going to be your go-to bong.
