2x4x6 Tent Help

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by matt69x, Jul 27, 2020.

  1. Hey everyone, I'm swapping to a smaller tent for my 2nd grow as moved houses and space is limited. So I plan on growing in a 2x4x6 tent.
First thing's first, I had lots of problems in my first grow with drainage as I grown in Soil with no perlite.

So now I am debating Soil+perlite or just go with Coco?
Main question is the amount of plants and pot sizes for the 2x4 tent.
I will be growing photoperiods. Probably planning about a 6 week veg. I guess 4 plants is a bit too much so was thinking 2 or 3 plants
    I will be topping/LSTing.
Anyone that ever grew in 2x4 can you give me some advice?
I am thinking 5 galon pots and 3 plants maybe? Would that work okay? Or something like 3plants in 7galon pots or 2 plants in 5/7 galon pots?

  2. I grow in a 2.5 x 4 cab. 4-5 mid sized strains will work. I've run as many as 7-8 but more plants just = more work and doesn't end up increasing yield too much. 4 will fill your footprint and drink up whatever your light is putting down. My grow is linked in my sig. I run on a little shorter veg right now (4-5 wks), have been running 5 pretty steady. Good luck bro. Cheers

  3. I run all coco with a couple perlite hempy containers. Like soil, but not for discrete indoor grows

  4. 3 gallon pots seem to be perfect size for me on a 5 week veg. With a short veg you can probably do 4 in there.

  5. My 2x4 runs three plants. Two 3 gallon and one 2 gallon.

  6. Hey, thanks for all the info man. But what do you mean not for discrete indoor grows? You mean coco?

  7. Yeah I was thinking 3 gal but seen somewhere that they can get root bound and stop growing and people need to then transplant to an even bigger pot which would be effort if it happened in early flowering. Or did you never have that problem? If not then I might do 3gal instead of 5. Thanks for advice

  8. Sorry. That was confusing AF. I use coco for my indoor grow, which is confined to three cabinets in a storage area of my basement. I really like to grow in soil, but only outdoors.

  9. I havent had an issue with them getting root bound. But thats with a 5 week max veg. I smoke too much to go any longer!!

  10. Soil vs coco is totally growers choice. Know lots who swear by both. I like coco for indoors because of the ability to grow basically any size plant (within reason) in about a 3 gallon bag. Limiting factor is how often you want to water. As long as you use a container that will prune your roots like a bag or air pot, you will have no concerns about root binding in a 3 gallon pot. Don’t know for soil. Usually used 10 gallons plus when I used soil outdoors. The attached picture was of an auto that didn’t auto in a 3.5 gal bag of coco. I was green enough to not switch it over until it was like waist high. By the end I had to feed/water it three times a day, but it went north of a lb. Don’t recommend going that large, but a bag of coco will take it if you want to put in the work. Cool stuff.

  11. Wow that's a monster. Nice man. Fair enough I might go for the 3 galon pots then. Still not sure about medium though but have some time to think about it. Thanks!

  12. Haha yeah it hard for me as well to think of doing like a long veg 2 months or so. Good to hear that then. Might try doing it the same way. Thanks for info
