What's up guys, I'm looking for some advice on the lighting set up in my 2x2x5.6 tent. I'm planning on using quantum board led lights, I have an HLG 65 V2 4000k coming in later today. From what I've read the 120 board will suffice for vegging in my small 2x2 until I upgrade. However, for flowering, I'm looking into getting another light to get up to at least 40w/sqft. The options that I'm considering ordering are 4x QB132 v2 - $135, 1x QB288 v2 w/ heatsink - $82, QB96 elite v2 w/heatsink-$99, or a HLG 100 kit- $149. What would my best option for the 2x2 be? Keeping in mind I would like the ability to move up to a bigger tent set up at some point.
Also, I would be interested in a pack QB 120 boards but they are sold out on HGL. Does anyone know where else I can find them?

  2. Gotcha, how high are you running your qb96? I'm thinking if I could get 180w out of it with only passive cooling that would be ideal.

  3. from what I have read 180-200 is the max without cooling.
I am running mine at 260w with a $10 120x120mm fan from amazon.
I had to dim it down to 30w when I first started the light and that was at 30".

I can't wait to add the 2nd one.

  4. I just pulled the trigger on a single qb96.. Now time to start shopping for a driver and I might as well add a fan to the list too. But dope that's 2x4 right? Will you power both on the same driver or separate?

  5. I got the 320-54a driver knowing that I would be adding a 2nd light. If your plan is to run a single you certainly don't need that driver but if you cool the light it will take a lot of power but not as efficient.

  6. Gotcha that makes sense. I am debating now if it would be more efficient to run my 65w alongside the qb96 or to power the qb96 high enough for the whole tent in flower.

  7. I don't there is 1 right answer. You can run it a million different ways and what works for some won't work as well for others. It also depends on how much light your looking to grow with. A 96 running at 250-300w is damm bright and would be awesome in a 2x2.

  8. Couldn’t agree more with you @wwonka. OP you’ll find the single 96 to be sufficient for 2x2 for Flower. You can actually veg with the 96 as well it’s got a good blue spike in its spectrum and works well for both veg and bloom.

  9. They veg just fine you just have to turn it down 80% lol.

  10. Go for quantum setup for sure. I had a 3 board setup (v1 288) on a 270 watt meanwell and it was damn overkill when cranked up. After 2 or 3 grows i realized that 200w - 230w (if a plant likes intense light) are more than enough for my 40"*20" space.

I cant imagine what the latest qb can do.

  11. That’s no joke! Lmao I’m actually going to be begging for the first time with them pretty soon.

  12. Word I'm excited to see the coverage in my tent with the 96. The 65w is already bright as hell in there as it is.
For the driver, I'm thinking an HLG-185h-54 should be straight.

  13. upload_2019-4-16_12-29-43.png Whats good guys my driver came in today! I ended up getting an HLG-240h-54a
I'm gonna be wiring it up later today with a 16awg replacement cord and male/female 125v plugs
I have two questions for yall
    1. Where do I ground the output side?
    2. How does the dimmer control work? I'm looking to run it about 50% for now

  14. I've got it set up and in the tent going to post a pic in a few.
Can someone explain to me how the current dimmer function on the hlg driver works? How do I know what power level I have it set to?

Here’s a good clip to explain it.
You can get a wire in a meter like this or get a kilowatt meter from the wall to see what power level you are dimming to( pic of meter is 4xqb132v’s on a hlg-320h-2100a dimmed all the way down)

  16. Thanks for the help I'm gonna pick up a multimeter tomorrow.
Right now I did not adjust the v/o screw at all and I turned the current screw all the way down.
It should be fine to leave like this until I can fine adjust the settings correct?
