2x the Carcinogens not 2x the Danger

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Dopamineee, Mar 23, 2009.

  1. Many times people against the use of cannabis have argued that pot contains more carcinogens than tobacco and thus is more harmful/ or just as harmful as tobacco. However harmful, the tar may not even what causes any cancer. The dangers of tobacco lay in a radioactive substances called polonium 210 and lead 210 that concentrate in the tobacco plant (due to certain fertilizers). These radioactive elements are not found in cannabis .

  2. But what about marijuana plants that are fertilized? Will they have the cancer causing chemicals like tobacco?

  4. Most mj growers use natural fertilizers, which do not cause excess radiation. Even some cigarettes (i.e., natives) are fertilized naturally, but for some reason they're illegal... Though there is probably a small chance that your bud is fertilized with radioactive chemicals:smoking:
