2nd week of flower questions

  1. Hey growers I’m coming into my 2nd week of flowering. Flipped on the 27/1/20. I’ve got a few questions.

    STRETCHING
my plants were showing pistils when flipped. So Counting days from then. How long does stretching usually last? I Have been reading not to use my Reds/Emerson boards during stretch is that true? When can I turn them on?

    VPD
What’s everyone’s thoughts on using a VPD chart in flowering? I used this chart for veg and worked well. But I’ve always read low RH %45-%55 ish in flower? The chart seems rather high tho. It’s summer here in AUS and weather has gone from hot 45C to raining 20C. My tent is in my brick garage and trying to keep humidity low is impossible the last few days.

    EMERSON EFFECT
    My 4x4 light is
    5x 288s
    2x Emerson boards
    2x qb11s (660/730)
Can anyone tell me the ratio needed for white/reds ratio? I’ve read %10 - %20 of watts of main lights?
My 288s are 3000k, running off
    2x HLG-240H-54A (240W) 1x HLG-120H-48A (120W) Using killawatt meter.
    My Emerson boards are 2x 24v 48 leds (36x 660nm)(12x 730nm) ( 3/1 )run off 2x APC-25-700 drivers.
I want to use the the QB11 far red for initiation. How much red is needed? My qb11 is 23v 11x leds wired to APC-25-700.

  2. In hydro I use VPD chart from seed to harvest, and have never had bud rot.

I've seen modifications to the chart, tailored to veg and flower.
But those are not real VPD charts.
They are after-the-fact alterations to make the chart fit what they're already doing.

  3. Thanks for the reply mate. There is obviously some science to it, and I’m sure it does work. I just wasn’t sure if it would work as good in flower as it did in veg.

that’s the other problem I’ve seen a few different charts that were all slightly different. I guess I can use it as a guide for my flowering.
