2nd Problem with my Second Grow

  1. Hi,

a week ago i had an Heat Stress issue, you guys told me what to do and i fixed the problem. (Switched from 600W HPS to 600W MH, lowered light capacity to 75% from 100%, raised the light up and put a fan between the canopy and the light).

I left my plants for 2 days and i think I am seeing phosporous deficiency on both of them (especially the left one). Here is whats up with both of them. (They are 30 days old from sprouting)

Left plant : I broke one of the two main stem of the plant after topping it (it recovered but this stem has some work to do). It now has 4 main nodes , which may explain the slow growth.

Right plant : It is topped 2 times (4 main nodes) which may explain the slow growth.

I water them when soil is dry 1 inch deep (every 2 days) and i give them half a dose of recommended Nutes every 3 watering. The problem here is that, i think, my nutes are total shit when talking about a cannabis plant. They are nutriments i bought from the local store since weed is illegal here i have nothing especially made for it... I don't really know what to do, leaves are turning bright green. Should i feed them like crazy or just wait for it?

  2. Hey, The plant looks alright besides the Phosphorus deficiency. The nutes don't seem to be the problem.
What's the PH of the water you're using?

I suggest fabric pots for your next grow., dont water so often, look for bugs and clean out your nutes you have adding up in the dirt by flushing with water for a few feedings until the RO is clean. Start fresh with nutes with 1/2 the strength you were using.

You said you were giving nutes every 3rd watering. Does that mean every 6 days? I give my plant nutes once every two weeks. One watering is nutes, then plain water, then nutes again.

I have fabric pots and I water MAYBE once a week. Roots love oxygen and they dont mind being dry. They will soak up every bit of water before they start having issues in dirt. It's very easy to have a nute build up if you feed that often.

Fabric pots will make it pretty foolproof on watering. Any extra will run out quickly and not drown the plant.

All in all your plants look pretty good. They're a little stressed, but not bad.

  4. A week is waaaaay to long to suggest between waterings at all. I agree with everything else. lol STICK to two days!

  5. I basically use Tap water, my soil PH is 6.9 (perhaps i should buy some PH Down??)

  6. I'm pretty sure i can indeed water it less often, thanks!

  7. Anytime! Dirt has the added benefit of also containing natural nutrients to a point (unless you mix your own then it has all the nutes it needs). So the added nutes can add to the nutes already in the dirt and mess with the grow and then you're left wondering wtf happened. I know thats happened to me so many times.

  8. Tap water is fine.. 6.9 isn't too bad but the optimal PH is about 5.8-6.2. Definitely invest in PH UP and DOWN you're going to need it at some point incase you have a worse issues in the future. Usually any nutes you introduce or add are going to alter the PH balance.

  9. I believe u have a NITROGEN excess which locks out potassium and calcium

  10. It is very possible, i did start to give them nutes when they were very young, i guess what was already in the soil would have been enough... I will water them only for the next week or too like you suggest and so does the other. Thanks
