    The Wife and I have been married 27 years today....i went to the store and bought some ribeyes 1.5 in thick...potatoes...cole slaw....Gonna cook out with friends and drink singapore slings and smoke Mary Jane....and then.....


    My favorite mixed drink.....
    The Singapore Sling was created at Raffles Hotel at the turn-of-the-century by Hainanese-Chinese bartender, Mr. Ngiam Tong Boon.

    In the Hotel's museum, visitors may view the safe in which Mr. Ngiam locked away his precious recipe books, as well as the Sling recipe hastily jotted own on a bar-chit in 1936 by a visitor to the Hotel who asked the waiter for it.

    Originally, the Singapore Sling was meant as a woman's drink, hence the attractive pink colour. Today, it is very definitely a drink enjoyed by all, without which any visit to Raffles Hotel is incomplete.

    Recipe:

    30 ml Gin
    15 ml Cherry Brandy
    120 ml Pineapple Juice
    15 ml Lime Juice
    7.5 ml Cointreau
    7.5 ml Dom Benedictine
    10 ml Grenadine
    A dash of Angostura Bitters
    Garnish with a slice of pineapple and cherry

    Ive been to the raffles hotel...and never had a singapore sling there :( now my life feels incomplete!!

    But congrats Joe! 27 years is a long time.

    grats man on the 27 years hope u stay together for longer! have a great time later also! and i still remember that thing u said god im still waiting to use that someday "i smoke marijuana, i really love to smoke marijuana, infact im going to smoke some now" or something similar lol​

    Wow! Happy belated anniversary! You must feel old, my mom and dad celebrated their 27th a couple of months ago. Hey, you're old enough to be my dad! Hah, joking of course. Thanks for the recipe, I'm gonna go to my bar now and order one of those...and watch the bartender whip out his little book and try to find it, $10 says he wont.

    Really? Oh..hmm I thought by the way palehorse described it it was a rare find, in that case im definatley trying it.
