250w CMH ballast + Incline CFM question

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by pokerg1, Oct 5, 2011.

  1. hey everyone:wave:, im going to start my first grow using the 250w cmh.
with all the different types of magnetic ballasts its hard to choose which one would be good and i want to get it right the first time.

    1) can someone recommend me a good ballast?
do any of u guys also supplement it with a reflector, hood, or none??

    2) i have a secret jardin tent of 2x2x5(h) running it in coco.
also can someone recommend me a what CFM inline fan would be enough so its not a wind tunnel????
i plan on ducting it into a carbon filter.

    thanks!!!!!!:smoke::smoke:

130 bucks... and its always a go to ballast....

if not that site has some pretty killer prices...

Hydrolux Cool Tube Reflector - 6 in.

75 dollars... its a six inch cool tube

Active Air 6 inch In-Line Fan 400 CFM

92 dollars... it will have to be put in a box to dial noise down...

don't forget the fan speed/temp speed adjuster to slow the fan down to help quiet the fan as well as get your temps stable....

Keeping everything six inchs will just be way easier...

six inch air cooled hood, six inch fan, six inch filter, six inch ducting... easy

  3. tytytytyty so much speed. i appreciate your help:D:smoke::smoke:

  4. No, a CMH must be run on a magnetic HPS ballast.

    I don't know of a remote 250, sorry

  5. You can't run a CMH on those digital ballasts above.

You should be fine with any magnetic 250w hps ballast. make sure you're getting the right bulb too....4k.
