I have one currently air cooled using one of my fans. I have some space issues and need to know if it's safe to use some type of object to hold the bulb in place (i cant fit in the ballest). would a cable tie suffice?, will it melt? is there anything i can use that isint going to melt when in contact with a small part of the bulb as well?
I'm not sure that your problem is clearly stated - which makes it difficult to answer your question. What do you mean the bulb doesn't fit in the ballast? how is the bulb working if it doesn't have a built in, or external ballast to provide power?
I have a 250w Bulb powered by a cable, there's no shield with it (where it would usually fit in). There is another shield in there so that's fine, but i needed to position the bulb so it wasent just ganing freely in the room. I've manage to sort this with fishing line.
