24 hours until I depart for Amsterdam for the first time!

    I can't even comprehend the fact that I'm 24 hrs from my adventure to being in the motherland for 3 weeks. Ive never even been to a medicinal state, let alone Amsterdam. Who all has been and what do you recommend? Which shops to visit, what shops aren't looking to rip you off? I was looking at prices and in Euro/ Dollar ratio it's not cheap prices on the menus. I'll be staying in Utrecht "Stoest" w/ some family. :cool:

    I'll be landing around 10:30am, and plan on hitting the ground running. after customs and everything of course. I'm not a drinker, haven't drank in over a year, i might pop a champagne every now and then. Not a cig smoker either, but I like rolling my bud up in blunts which I realize is completely out of the norm for over there, but whatever I'm taking some 'rillos. :rolleyes::smoke::smoke::smoke:

    If you've been what was your favorite shop? Also, I want to buy a couple pieces to bring back as gifts, anybody have recommendations for a good "head shop" over there?

    Also I've heard of a 4/20/2012 protest going on over there too, whats that all about?:confused:

    I just got back, it was great and you'll have a blast. Don't worry about finding the best shops for pieces, they're everywhere. As for finding bud, it's also everywhere. There are 2 kinds of coffee shops and I went to both. There are the chain ones, like Bulldog, and then there are local independent ones. I had a great experience at the chains and at the local shops I went to. One tip, don't buy bud in one shop and try to smoke it in another, it's rude. The bud tender at one shop told me it's like buying a pizza and taking it to another pizza place to eat it.

    Where are you staying...Centrum? Jordann?

    I like the Green Place...always have some nice kush varietals available...right next door is Temple Bar Pub...Irish done nicely, and of course, they'll have a Guinness for you! You can smoke out front and the bartender will bring your beverage to you.

    Go to Amnesia (a bit of a hike, but not bad)...prices are low, low, low...try the L.S.D. for a nice day trip...also count on learning to use a vaporizer...once you do, you'll understand why there's more than one way to ingest your cannabis.

    Visit Rusland to get yourself a "spacecake" (5 euros well spent)...pass if they only have "muffins"...

    Other than that, my advice would be to find the nearest grocery store and get some orange juice (or whatever) and some munchies so you can retreat to your room when you cop a really good buzz.

    I'm not sure, I didn't even think to ask. I smoked J's the whole time. I'm sure you'll find one if you ask around. Everyone's really friendly over there.

    How are you surpassing the recent change in regulations brah? Sure they aren't too strict, but make sure u have a dutch passport holder nearby just in case.

    Its been pretty awesome so far! The city of Amsterdam was crazy. I'm glad I'm staying on the skirts. I'd almost say the bud is just as good if not better too, cheaper, and you get like 1.3 and 1.4 for 10euro rather than in the city of Amsterdam where you'll pay 13euro for only 1g.

    check out abraxis and dampkring 2 (cant decide which one was my favrouite)
    i would probably avoid the more tourist-y coffee shops (grasshopper, bulldog etc...)

    also dont get hit by any cyclists.
    amsterdam is crazy

    Are you staying in Amsterdam? If so bring a lot of $$$$, everything is way overpriced, I'm staying out in the burbs of the dam so everything is significantly cheaper. I've saved $ each day actually, and I've came home w/ extra in my pockets that I've set out for each day.
