Ok, I have looked for the awnser to this one, but have not found. If a person had used 24/7 lighting after germination, and used it for about 14 days, or until the first tiers of fan leaves define themselves....At that point, Would it be any problem to SWITCH to 18-6 light for the duration of the veg period? or, would it be better for "a person" to continue 24/7 until 12-12?
I like to start seedlings off on 24/7 for the first 14 days and then go for 18/6 for the rest of veg. I find that doing this causes most strains to show pre-flowers at week 4 without even turning the lights down to 12/12. Do it that way, it will be fine.
im in the same dilemma would keeping it 24/7 effect yield or anything or would it totally be better off doing 18/6
if you kept 24/7 it will grow more compact with leaf sets closer, when you switch to 18/6 it gives them some dark time to grow, and puts more internodal spacing. Also makes the preflowers show up faster. So it is really up to the person. I had a indica that was starting to look like a bush and i had to switch to 18/6 from 24/7 so it would grow up and not just look like a head of cabbage.
