I'm doing a garden this year with not just pot but corn sunflowers and tomatos to cover the pot. But some questions. I was gonna get some top soil and horse manure and just rototill the whole plot mixing it all up. Do I gotta do something else? like dig wholes for the pot and put potting soil in? How much horse shit do you think id need for a plot that size
3 parts topsoil to one part composted horseshit. Your gonna need a lot of horse shit. I used 80 pounds of composted cow shit in a 4 x10 bed last year to get it started. I also added cheap organic topsoil and bale of peat moss (3.8cuft) from lowes. I worked it by hand dozens of times before I planted my crops. This year (last week) I added better amendments since I already had a rich soil base. I threw in some kelp meal, alfalfa meal, cottonseed meal, Earthworm castings and Jamaican bat shit. Its cooking until I plant out in 5-6 weeks. Not sure of your stance but Im all organic and suggest you do the same. VOO
