20A fuse enough?

  1. Setting up my grow next week, making sure my fusebox is adequate. I see the "bedroom" circuit has a 20a fuse in there.

    Will this be okay for a 600w hps, two 225w LEDs, two small oscelating fans, and a 6" inline fan?

    Possibly my 4 tube 24" HO T5 also. This would be on 4 seperate 110~120v(?) wall outlets with surge protector power strips.

    Voltage x amperage = watts. You'll be good for 2k if Give about 10-20% cushion for safeties sake. So in theory you've got plenty of wiggle room.

    Edit. Not sure if it was your plan, but try to avoid putting the lights on a power strip

    Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I didn't plan on power stripping the lights, only the fans. I'll have outlet > timer > light
     
  4. Amps = watts divided by volts.

    20 = x/110

    20(110) = x

    2200 = x

    You should be able to run up to 2200 watts before the circuit breaker trips (I assume you mean circuit breaker and not fuse. Fuses are pretty outdated.) So you ought to be OK with that load, but I don't think you want to get close to that threshold on a regular basis.

    Edit: What Jmosely said, only the math takes me longer.

    Haha yeah circuit breaker not fuses. I'm use to working on cars, house electricity confuses me, haha.
     
  6. No kidding? Got any idea why the reverse lights on my truck don't work? I just got done checking all those little fuse type things and they're fine, and the light bulbs aren't blown either. And that's pretty much the extent of my automotive electrical knowhow.:confused:

    Sounds like a short in the wiring harness. Take both tail light assemblies out and look for cracks/corrosion. If its not that it might be a relay up front
