I decided after seeing how useful krrping these diarys are (The communitys mind is better than just mine), I decided to start my own. I have a total of four plots. I will be visiting them within the next week or so and am going to try and borrow a friends digital camera to get you guys some pictures! Worst case scenario i will use my camera cell phone but it has a 3.2 megapixel camera and should be able to show any problems that may be occuring. As far as a written update here is the layout of my four plots (and some more)...Feedback on wrongs and rights are greatly appreciated as I have much to learn. Dont owrry you wont hurt my feelings ;-). Plot 1: Hiked up a mountain a little and cut down ferns (I believe this is a wetland plant?) and began tearing at the soil with a pick axe...It was real rocky! After i got about a foot down i dug holes about a 1'x1' and filled them with organic potting soil I picked up at a local grocery store. This plants were germs in peat pellets and have a 3-leaf pattern at their 3rd set of leaves. I started to tie them down on their side (I need help here) and the fan leaves touch the ground, are my plants too small or am I doing this wrong? I make a rainbow shape out of a stick and poke it into the ground on each side of the stalk. Anyways I have about 20 plants good bag seeds this way. Il post pictures within a week or two when i visit (depending on rain, its raining now...The gods are with me lol). Plot 2: This was me being a lazy fuck and walking into the woods and kicking a hole in the dirt and throwing a couple seeds in it. THeyre not doing all to well with their second set of leaves :-(. Plot 3: Same as plot 2 lol. Plot 4: My moster grow I did it so late in the season yea i know but whatever. Today i went out into the woods and ripped up a 10x12 plot in the woods. Teh sod was really heavy and i threw it into a few piles (the sod was about 6 in to a 1' thick). I turned the soil very well with 8 cu feet of some cheap walmart plant food taht feeds for 9 months... basically miracle grow but walmart brand. I also mixed two big bags of vermiculite in their. After the soil was nice and loose, we took are bag which ahd easily a couple thousand seeds in it and went to work. I poked my finger in the ground and dropped sprinkles of seeds in a few hundred holes. This covered half our plot. The other side he sprinkled the seeds like salt on a steak and we raked them back and forth. Just a test to see how they compare in growth. THese seeds were all seeds we had been saving up from this seasons herbal cleansing seasons. All types of weeds, garbage and great. THe massive grow I did becuase I know its so late in the seasons adn i know alot of the plants are gonna get fucke dup and eaten and killed blah blah blah. So i planted a shit ton close together expecting a yield of an eigths from 200 plants at least... Thanks for reading (if you maanged to read all this). Oh yea also I have some plants in pots with their second set of leaves, just some goofers )
Hey guys, just took the pics so Im writing the text that goes along with the pics. I wasnt able to get to all my plots, but I went to my closest one and took some pics on my cell phone. It just rained here in the Northeast so i found a snail in my pot and killed the fucker. Anyways I noticed TONS of ants in my soil. HELPPPP! This cant be good and i want to take care of this before something bad happens. Anyways, Im going to try and figure out how to post these damn pictures. Thanks guys -Rider
This is a pic of one of plants in a semi-large plot in the woods. I dug holes and filled them with local organic soil and transplated the peat pellets into them about 2-3 weekago. The plants are a little over a month old. Some pellets have 4 plants in them while others have 1. I LST'd a couple already but I think i did it too early (FUCKKK!). Input on this would be appreciated. Same as the first one. Just a different plant. Just another pic. Same style as above. Theres two different pots like this. The Alaskan Ice is in a 5 gallon bucket. No pics of my SOG grow so far but I just started that. Couple thousand seeds planted late in a approx 12 by 12 plot.
Your plants are way too close, they are going to have cross roots thus making your plants stunted. you have enough time since young to move them apart. - That Fire
Shit does it fuck them up really bad? Im not trying to grow the best bud at all. I just want ALOT of it. I planted them close becuase I figured some will die and some will be males. Also I figured id get more bud off two plants close than one by itself. I also planted somewhat late in my very short grow season so i fgured they wont be gettin very big anyways
Hey guys Today I am going to tie fishing line around trees as a make shift fence. Also Id like to get a natural insectiside/pestiside. Any suggestions what to use? when they get about 2 feet tall Im gonna stop becuase they should sustain any damage pretty well. Ive read sprinkling shavings of soap helps. And also cinders? Thanks
Nice man!!! I got a indoor grow going atm and am going to try to pollenate a few of my females over the next year so I end up with an assload of seeds next year start of season and do the same kinda deal you did with Plot 4. Nice job on posting pics!!!! Keep up the good work. -Suscribed- >.>
If you have two plants so close together like that, the tangled roots won't be able to grow long enough to sustain the plants when they're more fully grown, you won't even have enough time to be able to identify the males let alone eliminate them. You'd be better off having each plant 6-12 inches from every other plant, they'll grow throughout the fall season and produce nice healthy buds. Be sure you also have somewhat deep (around a foot or so) amount of good soil they're sitting in so the roots have room to grow and collect progressively more nutrients as the plant grows. Those holes you seeded with more than one seed are a big waste of seed and space though, most importantly.. they're seeds not fertilizer.
Well heres a question (and by no means am i being belligerant or arrogant). Planting together obviously wont let the plants get as big as they could, but in all reality is it that big of a deal? All types of plants grow close together and survive and im not trying to grow monsters, I just want a shit ton of plants with a little bud off each one. I really dont think the roots growing into each other is going to be devastating, butthen again i dont know. Can anybody adress this issue? And also based upon my plants height and size in the grow season...i have until early october at latest, anyone wanna take a guess as to the final size and yield of my plants?
I grew plants real close together. They grew pretty big but the yield wasn't enormous although average. I don't know for your yield in the end, it depends on too many factors. Good luck.
Do you have a journal for it? Also, how long is your season; Minei s fairly short :-(. How many plants did you have in how large of an area? Sorry for all the questions, just helps me establish goals and make projections ;-). Regards Rider
Sure no pb, my season is mid MArch to mid November. I started the 2008 ones on May 15th, harvested Oct 15th. I almost killed them from lack of wate twice in the summer so that affected yield too as well as the multiple plants per pot. But I think if you water them get youll get big plants and a nice yield even if they're close together. Just LSt them away from each other. It's not like they'll kill each other. Mine were happy all huddled together. The ield could have been bigger but it was also my fault (no water). My season is long and sunny too. This year I have my main crops one per hole but I'm doing in the same pots in the same areas several together as an extra grow for ease. 2008 journal: http://forum.grasscity.com/general-outdoor-growing/281260-one-more-me.html
I got about 10 ounces for 12 female plants. My spots were hit with 6 hours sun average. You can see 5 plants per pot in a picture.
Feedback is appreciated....Anyone wanna take a guess at expected yield per plant?....Im thinking 3/4 oz give or take....Im gonna lst them all away from each other for optimum space. Also i cut down a bunch of trees around my plot so if you look up its a big opening (I know, not too stealthy but fuck it...theyre not gonna drop the rangers for 20 small plants)...some are about 1 foot while otehrs are about two....And the next 4 weeks should give the most growth...anyone know when they will sex? Il post more pics soon!!
No love :-( lol...well anyways the grow is going good...guess noones really reading this but Im going to take more pictures with...DUN DUN DUN A DIGITAL CAMERAAAAA WOOT...last I checked I have about 100 that are approx 1 foot tall (2 weeks ago) and about 30 that are 2-3 feet tall. Im in New york and would like to know if anyone knows when to look for balls *males* and also when harvest usually is. thanks a bunch fellas RIder
