Hello! So, since I'm new here I'll start with a little background info. I'm a caregiver and I finally got a great new place to grow. It's an 11.5ft x 15.5ft room (which I will use for flower) connected to a smaller, 3.5ft x 11.5 room (which I will use to veg and clone) complete with a sink. Okay, on with the details and pics. Enjoy the log. Lighting Two vertical 1000w HPS bare bulbs in the flower room. The veg room has a 500w T5 and the clones have 40watts of fluoro. Nutes/Water Trying to decide between GH lucas formula using just bloom and micro or the website ratio using the entire 3 bottle set. Also contemplating GH vs Advanced Nutrients for the grow/micro/bloom. I'll use that mix, a drop or two of Superthrive during veg, and calmag all the way through. For now I'm undecided on the brands of other additives so I'll wait until it comes up in the log later. The sink has an RO filter installed. This RO filter will run nearly 24/7 filling up large black garbage bins. This is where I store my water, using a submersible pump to fill buckets and drain them (as this system is not re-circulating.) Genetics Montana Silvertip. This is a staple medical strain where I live. People have pulled the frostiest nugs I have ever seen off this plant and it's stocked in every dispensary. Apparently it was a granddaddy purps that got pollinated by a mystery strain and this phenotype popped up. Afghani Bullrider Church Trainwreck Papaya Those 5 are for sure right now. I'll be adding 2 more strains in the next week. This is why I'm not doing recirculating DWC, I'm first going to run a huge variety of strains to find a good phenotype for my room. Then, I will grow 1 or 2 strong strains and make the system recirculate. Equipment I still need to panda film the entire room and floor and partition the veg room from the flower room. 2000w HPS 4 foot eight bulb 500W T5 Cloner I built. 80watt air pump eight 10 gallon buckets for DWC flowering. Each bucket receives 10 watts of air. For veg, I'm going to use two large heavy duty totes. Each tote has 4 sites for 6inch netpots. 800cfm can fan for exhausting hot air from ceiling into the house. Passive air intakes come from outside. Portable AC Tons of fans... DAY ONE So, today I started cleaning the grow room and putting things together. I've got most of my strains under the T5 vegging to take clones from. The clones from these soil mothers are going in the bubbler cloner to start their new life in hydroponics. Here's a pic of the moms today, shortly after being placed under the T5: Pics of my bubble cloner (has a 250 gal/hr pump sloshing the water around along with 80 watts of air since the flower room doesn't need it, yet): So this is most of it now. You can see one of the vertical HPS hanging on the left.. 4 DWC plants will surround each vertical HPS bulb. Everything in the main room in this pic is going to get packed into the section with the sink and T5 and sectioned off + light sealed. Next step is to sterilize/panda film/seal the room. The mothers will be ready to clone by that point. EDIT: forgot to mention that's a 250W HPS on the ground in the last pic.. it's helping veg for now so I can clone asap. I'm going to remove it as soon as the veg room as sectioned from the rest of the room.
Okay, it's been a week since my last update and a few things have changed. I ripped down the fancy cloner and decided to just use rockwool and a humidity dome to clone.. I decided to do this because the homemade bubbler cloner was waaay too much water for what it was when I can just use rockwool. I picked up 5 Medicine Man clones (super heavy yielding plant). I will be flowering about half soil half hydro I decided since so much is in soil already. I have been spraying the plants very thoroughly once a week with einstein oil + coco wet pH'd to 6..the next day I spray them heavily with pH 6 clean water + small amount cal/mag. The day after that I spray with dilute MaxiCrop seawood fertilizer...it calls for a full cap per gallon and I use like 1/15th a cap, maybe. +cal/mag and pH to 6. the day after this I spray them heavily with water. I have been doing this for about 4 days to treat mites (new growroom - haven't been able to clean everything out, yet) and either a magnesium deficiency or a nitrogen deficiency on the silvertip....it shouldn't be a nitrogen deficiency since everything is in fresh Roots Organics soil which I found to be decently loaded with nutrients fresh out of the bag. A pic of the Silvertip I'm growing..(the larger plant in the room)..this is absolutely amazing pot. Probably the best I've ever had. The nugs are hues of purple and coated thick in crystals: veg room. 7 days since last pic of these plants:
