# 2000w ventilation

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by pharmy army, May 4, 2011.

1. ok so i have 2 1000w lights and i need to ventilate my room. i will be hooking up intake through the floor vent, and im gonna do the exhaust to my attic. my question is how many fans will i need to use?

2. 2 one for exhausting heat out of hoods if you have them, when doin this you will need to run the intake from the floor to the hood to not have the exhaust reek. Floor air<hood<hoodDuct<fan<attic. The other fan will be hooked up to a charcoal filter for smell. Room<charcoal filter<fan<attic. You will also need at least one good oscillating fan

3. thanks for the advice man. what exactly is an oscillating fan?

4. oh yeah, and where would u get these fans that connect to the duct?

5. bump.......

Here are a few simple answers hope this helps

"An oscillating fan is a fan that rotates side to side while blowing. A great alternative to box fans for cooling rooms, an oscillating fan creates a breeze throughout the room rather than just blowing in one direction. An oscillating fan generally has either a base or a stand that is stationary, while the unit that houses the fan moves separately." Wise geek

The fan that connects to to the ducting is your inline fan/blower.

Hope that helps

7. HOW BIG OF A FAN DO I GET!?!?!?!?!

FIRST - Find the Cubic Feet of your room.

You do this by taking the height length and width of room and multiplying them on your calculater. Example. L x W x H = cubic feet of grow space

SECOND -

Then you divide this number by 5 ( the number of minutes your fans will run to recycle all the air out of the room completely)

Example L x W x H / 5 = the minimu size CFM fan you'll need for your room

After you do this you will know how big of fans you need to purchase. The go on ebay and Search "6 in line fan" "8 in line fan" and buy 2 that are slightly bigger then your area. This will help insure tempuratures are stable.

Lastly. it is very important to buy "Air Cooled" Reflectors or Hoods for your grow space this with the combination of in line fans will give your plants a well ventilated clean air space to grow up.

Hope this helps
