Been out of it for a while now. Sprouted 2 weeks ago. Over watered a week ago. Letting it dry out for now. Unfortunately I used old soil from another harvest instead of a mild soil in the beginning. Have purple early In a few and yellow spots. 2 are recovering from the overwatering. My question is if any deficiencies or nothing to worry about. Haven't added any feeding yet, just water and a tiny amount of insect frass a few days ago when i added dry soil for overly moist soil and leggy growth early on. Was going to implement cal mag and recharge next watering. But deciding if I should feed?
I have had trouble with seedlings with the purple on underside of leaf like cold temperatures or a phosphorus problems on the seeds I have made. I will be watching to see how your seedlings do, because I've had a hard time during veg with seedlings like that. I hope yours take off and don't start to turn under around the 3rd week.
Ive not run into that yet but prob will eventually. Maybe if ya start to feed them it will correct. I start feeding mine when they emerge from the soil. I use a mild nutrient dose every watering all the way to harvest. My guess is these just need some food. Hopefully ya don't run into the issues clearsky had.
It's not feeding, I've been through everything on at least 15 different seedlings like that for over a year playing with them. And the ones I do get to grow you have seen, it's my jedi deathstar plant I just harvested last run. I had another one I harvested a while back that I took clones from and the clones grew normal but I culled them because I didn't want to grow clones. But next time I will start 20 and pick one that grows good for a mother plant when I'm ready to clone and ready to keep the jedi deathstar going.
My path to cloning was a years long stumble and bumble but by reverting a partially harvested pair of ladies I found the loophole that works for me. In my mind and limited experience, this "guarantees" that all cuts will be female and for the better part of a year now that's held true. Obviously, if they get stressed there's the potential for hermies but eight or nine generations in I've not suffered any negative expression. Going from indoors on 18/6 @ approx 77 degrees, I'm not seeing anything but sparkles on girls running outside as overflow; roughly 13.5 hours daylight at present and hitting high 80's.
yes there is an issue . First are you giving them to much light ? Getting lime green soon not good . If its not to much light then i would repot them then add some nutrients . Issue i see . The few leaves that have discolored in them like something put slime on the leaf and it got burnt . Is it ( leaf miners ) IDK. Get some soapy water . spray then down well . Use your fingers to lightly scrub them clean. Then wash with water . Do it all when you repot . Leave the light dimmed until the plants are fully dry . Post more pics in a week. They will recover
As always someone gets all kind of whack ass answers when it would be more helpful for people to just not comment because it pulls the issue in twenty different directions. My 2 cents without knowing your climate lighting etc. I've never seen underside purpling like that. If I had to guess, its something to do with your reused soil but that could also be genetic. Have you ran this before? Also overwatering is extremely common for causing what appear to be deficiency. In your case id sit and wait. Next watering, foliar spray some micro nutes on to the leaves and report back after. And no I wouldn't really worry but your gonna need to repot in literally a couple days those are gonna be bottoming out soon
Like I said above, I have been through it and from what I know it seems to be a Genetic thing with the seedlings, I got Feminized seeds I made and they do the same thing and are very hard to get threw the veg stage, but once you get threw the veg stage they do flower good and produce nice bud's. I'm Curious did you make the seeds that you have sprouted and if so what strain did you cross. Also I would like to see your plants again in a week to see if they do what my seedlings do.
Any update on your seedlings, are they growing at a normal pace. I just planted 20 seeds that will look just like yours and 9 of them came up today so 11 more I'm waiting on. I'm just hoping to get one good one out of my 20.
Out of the 20 I planted 17 came up, all are purple underneath except two maybe. Will let them all go 3 weeks before before culling at least 15. Any update on your seedlings
