  2. do not have them on 12/12...

  3. I want to keep them short & not fussed about yield.

  4. I see what your point is, however I believe he said that as a command for quality, I could be wrong, but what I get from my reading is that if you dont give them enough time to veg, I think this can affect the end potency, besides, you can always LST:D

  5. Well its a bit late now to re-veg as i want to be harvesting around new year.

i know people that swear by 12/12 from seed & it`s something i want to try out, next time i grow ill be vegging for 3-4 weeks before changing the timer.

  6. Cool man, let us know your results. And these people that swear by it, not being a critic or anything, I am interested in knowing what they say are the benefits of 12/12 the entire grow, I know of people that use 12/12 as soon, or shortly after the clones take root, then transplant to their flowering room, actually now that I recall that was an article in HIGH TIMES about some, I think, medical growers.

  7. I guess I see why you're doing this, but I would think if you were going to go to 12/12 right away, you might have picked some autoflower strain. you might stress them though, not sure, never really seen anyone go 12/12 right off the bat. good luck though!

  8. No, it is not too late to re-veg as they aren't in flower.

A little basic botany: They are not going to flower until they are sexually mature which doesn't happen until 5-8 weeks from seed REGARDLESS of the light schedule.

Might as well have them on 18/6, 20/4, or 24/0. The 12/12 is NOT going to speed anything up no matter how much you wish it. You are just hindering the plant and NL doesn't get that tall in any event. Mine don't anyway.

A New Years harvest isn't going to happen, more like the end of Jan or into Feb. Figure at least 3 months from seed pop to harvest, if not a bit more, for NL.

    Wet

  9. If i changed the photoperiod from 12/12 to 18/6 im guessing they wont go into shock as they are not mature enough to flower, If it`s not going to save me any time on 12/12 then i may as well veg them un til they show sex.

    What shall i do ?

Thanks to all the tuned in on this one.

now im not saying that to veg these a month wont produce a higher yeild but for this application i think straight to flower would work well....my plants are about 3 1/2 feet now with like 10 days to go..as for potentcy...will have ta do a side by side on this one:smoke:..hope this helps

  11. looking good^^^^^
    cant wait to see harvest.

op: im intrested in how this goes, i want to buy some nl seeds

  12. I would at least veg them till they are big enough to take a clone off of. LOL Like grow them out to 5 or 6 sets of true leaves at least.

Take a clone and then flower one or the other plants. If it turns out to be really special, you can keep going with it.

At a dispensary we have tested from seed:

    Pros 18/6
Plants grow stronger and more potent with high THC and higher CBD levles to give you a nice indica type stone even with sativa.

A lot bigger buds because they actually can presex themselves and develop flower sites when they are ready, not forced.
Mature plants give bigger yields, hands down.

Gives your plants ability to grow stronger roots, and gives you a stronger plant. Strong plants handle abuse well, and give out nice buds.

    Pros 12/12

Plants grow about twice as fast. Your sprout to harvest time is 3-4 weeks shorter.

    Cons 18/6
Plants take about 3-4 weeks longer then 12/12

    Cons 12/12

Plants do not mature resulting in smaller buds, and less bud all together.
Lower levels of THC and CBD are consistent in immature plants.

The same plant grew from seed Plants A 18/6 and Plants B 12/12

    Plants A : Cinderella 99: Seed to harvest 94 days 4.2oz THC 18.03 % CBD .64

Plants B: Cinderella 99: Seed to harvest 60 days 2.09 oz THC 12.46 CBD .33

    Big difference to me.

    Ryan

Edit: For those who read this, as I re read it sober I meant to say CBD's not CBN's.

For those who don't know CBN's are Cannabinol's and this is the percentage you get if you harvest too late, or your harvested pot starts to get old. It will leave you with this, 'groggy hangover'. This happens to me if I smoke month old weed, even when stored properly.

  15. I lived for more than 50 yrs near Ft. Lauderdale. You are so right about that Fla sunshine.

Nicest thing was, my clones (pure indica), outside, would go straight into flower 9 months out of the year. My equipment was nothing more than a shop light hung from a sawhorse for my host plant.

Single cola's the size and height of a beer bottle. LOL You could smell them, but not see them.

  16. thats great stuff bro.....exactly the kind of info i love..c99 sweet control plant..your right..big difference

  18. Brilliant post deacon

I think ill leave my plants be on 12/12 then, itsgreat to have some evidence on 12/12 growing as my main intention was to have a quick harvest, well quicker than vegging for weeks then into flower.

I will add pics through the weeks and report my progress as this is my firdt grow.

And it also seems that i can take cuttings in the flowering stage and try some "Monster Cropping"

Any more input will be taken on board people, many thanks everyone.

  19. I would re read sambomb's post again.

Is saving a month worth what you will lose in potency and yield?

I could see doing it down the road, but not for a 1st grow.

    But, to each his own.
