  1. Pretty nice progress.
Do you wake up in the morning thinking “I should check the grow”.
    I know I do.
Nice to be growing again, isn’t it.

  2. Thanks bluegreen, bro I can't stop thinking about the grow. On my mind always if I'm conscious..lol. Now that the photos are in flower I'm sitting outside the tent at 355pm waiting..lol.
Having another tent full of autos is fun though. I never have to wait on them.
I am facing a move in the spring. So I'm considering taking down the 4x4 photo tent after this grow. Pack it up and just use the 4x8 for autos until I get settled in the new place.

Being legal to grow is pretty alien to me. I got busted for a larger grow in 07. Took the wind out of my sails and I've not grown indoors since until lately and I am loving every single moment. Still kinda in disbelief but working through all that anxiety one plant at a time..lol

  3. It is kinda getting there quickly. I'm using about 4x6 of that tent with 8 under two lamps. My devil Xxl are stretching at a good pace and spreading out a lot with me still tying down branches. So hopefully they won't overgrow their space.

  5. I bet you are. I was just lurking on one of your threads. Holy cow you grow your ass off..lol. 800+ on a grow is amazing. I'm using the 5gal buckets on my photos too. Never used them before but satisfied so far.

  7. Healthy bunch of plants. You may blow up the tent as they really start to bulk up.
    So cool.

  8. Thanks bluegreen, I'm seeing hairs on branches. It's on now. I'm throwing all the lamp has to offer at them and all they can eat. Somethings gonna happen...soon.

  9. Welcome back, looks like you have good start on things.

Topping is just another tool when used in the right way can be beneficial. I do not run tons of autos but it is usually best to just let them go if they are a really fast strain, then for the longer ones an early top for a 4 way like you mentioned or just staking them over to let the side branches grow up. There is a fine line between what can help your yields or end up reducing them. I normally only run them when I am running a long veg for outdoor girls or sometimes I put a few out early in summer.

In WA they are not actively looking as long as your not going overboard and being in their face about it. We also have have more restrictive laws and only medical is allowed to grow their own. At the end of the day the state has limited resource to check out everything and most likely it only comes up because you did something else to draw their attention.

I used to use one of those and all I did was take an old pc fan and mounted up in the top and used some random 12v charger to power it.

  10. Thanks for stopping by. Since the beginning of all this things have evolved and changed. I'm still trying to find my normal. It'll take a few cycles.
Learning and re learning a lot of things.

  12. Ok, I have to ask this. Do any of you growers ever try growing a few veggies during the winter in those grow tents? My mom always grew her tomatoes in her backyard. And she wouldn't touch one out of the store because she said they were grown in a greenhouse. I don't know. But I do know there is a big difference between the ones in a store and the ones you grow yourself.

  13. I used to be a manager of a produce store and did the ordering and interaction with local farmers and I also used to be a market gardener. Their is nothing wrong with stuff grown in greenhouses, all it is is a method of season extension. The issue with most store bought tomatoes is that they are often shipped along with everything else from a cooled warehouse and a cooled truck. The colder temperatures destroy some of the flavor compounds in the tomatoes. Additionally mass scale farms will pick not fully ripe tomatoes so they ship and store better then the reseller will expose them to ethylene to finish out the maturity before sending them out to their customers (stores.) So because of the nature of mass scale production and to meet the needs of out of season crops theese methods are used. I personally would buy as much local tomatoes as possible in the small store I worked because we could always outsell major grocers. But back to greenhouses as long as you can augment light and heat you can grow tomatoes year round and avoid these determent's to the quality of what you are buying.

  14. I was thinking of getting a grow tent and growing my tomatoes to later can my sauce. I was hoping the veggies would come out like the ones in my mom's garden.

  15. As long as your meeting the conditions, nutrients, light levels, and environmental they should be just as good and possibly better in a controlled environment.

  16. My wife made the suggestion of growing food products in a tent. End of story.

  17. Yeah I remember when LEDs weren't a thing. Just colored lamps folks we're playing with. Top THC strains ran 15-18%. Feminized seed was just developing and autos were a debate from hell..lol. I learned a lot from old timers at a site called Overgrow 2000-2007. Today my head spins with all the new stuff out there but one thing they can't mess with is basic growing skills. They can improve methods but they basically stay the same. Environment, nutrition, good seed, and a desire to learn and improve your skills.

  18. I grew these several years back in a spare bedroom in 3 gallon pots of a living organic medium under a cheap 4' LED shop light. The pinkish color you see is from an old Mars 300 watt light I had nearby growing an auto-flower.

I've grown Tiny Tim tomatoes indoors and had a very successful harvest for almost 4 weeks. [IMG]

  19. I do occasionally feed from the top. Usually happens when Ive waited to long to water and they are drier than usual. With all these different strains I find different watering needs throughout. And yeah, there's that salt buildup.

I do enjoy bottom feeding. Once you can gauge how much they desire watering is as easy as dumping solution in a tray and watching them wick it up with a hour. Plus by having a drip pan for each pot I can adjust nutrients or water needs of that picky plant that doesn't like what the others eat. A plus when growing multiple strains.

  20. Getting a nice slow stretch going on. 11days since 12/12 flip, 4days in flower.
