  1. Hello fellow Grasscity members. It's been almost a few decades since I've grown indoors. I'm rusty but ya never really forget basics. Be patient, give the plants what they need. Then leave the alone. Simple right? Not always...lol.
I love Scrog growing. Been along time so I'm pretty excited to get this party started. I look forward to meeting some new friends.

I've been waiting my whole adult life for this. Ohio has finally passed legal weed along with a grow your own clause which doesn't require a license and allows 6 plants per adult in house or max of 12. I had been watching the progress of issue 2 for most of the year. Thanks to the hard work of organizations like NorMl and the determination voters expressed about getting cannabis legal. No more out of state trips. What a relief. Let's Grow!

As I waited for the process to unfold I started doing research on growing. Moreso a catch up on all things new in growing indoors. I have experience but it has been a while and the world of indoor gardening has blown up since so many states allow home grown weed. In my day it was hot, bulky, hid and mh rigs. 18% THC strains were as high as you could get. LEDs were just purple lamps folks were experimenting with. Wow! Has that ever changed.

Finally throwing this gig all together. My last indoor grow was in 07. So, here we go. I'll be growing in two tents. 4x4 and 4x8. Fems n Regs in 4x4 in dwc scrog, and Automatics in one half of the 4x8, promix hd myco.

    Fems
    Paradise Seed...LA Amnesia
    Garden of Green...Chemdawg Millionaire Guava
    G13...Gigabud

    Autos
    I49... Devil Xxl
Coming Monday: 420Fastbuds Variety 5 pack

    MelloFarm 4x4 tent
    GreenHut 4x8 tent
Vivosun 6" exhaust with carbon filter
    Szhlux pt4000 fem/reg grows
    Adiding GP3000 automatics
    1 18gal tote
    25w fish tank heater
Hitop 110gph air pump w air stones
    2 6" net pots w geolite clay
    3gal fabric pots and tray
    Promix hd myco
    1" cubes rock wool...slab
    Heavy duty plug bar 2
    2...6" clip on fans
46"x46" wood frame with metal 2"x3" screening for scrog
Govee Remote temperature/hygrometer Govee Smart humidifier
    YinMik ph,ttd,ec tester

    Tps Nutes......
    Tps One
    Tps Signal
    Tps CalMag
    Planet Earth Silica
    SaferGro PH down

I'm currently a little into this grow. Three fems in the 4x4 Dwc Scrog and one half of the 4x8 will host autos.
Started soaking beans on 11/10. All fem emerged from rockwool on 11/14. Planned on using only two but the LA Amnesia is either mutated or just growing funky. Placed the Gigabud into the same netpot. If the LA comes out of it awesome. If not I'll just cull her weird ass out. I've grown two plants in one 6" netpot before. Nada problem..lol

They are 12 days in so far. I'm hoping they get up in the screen soon. That's when the fun starts..lol

Here's some pics of my setup. It takes up my whole dining room. Forms a large L shape. One tent for automatic strains only and the other for my favorite grow method..Scrog.
I have one 6" vivosun exhaust w filter venting both tents with the larger one hosting the fan and filter and a single duct sucking from the smaller tent into the larger one...confused yet? .
It's working for me right now. I'm over budget here so I'm working with what I've gathered. I wasn't planning on the 4x8 tent. Bid on it at a local auction and won three tents that day. 2 2x4s and the big one. I'm suddenly rich in tents but our of space. So, gifting the two smaller tents to my adult kids. Time they learn to grow.
Anyways, I get damn good temps in both tents so far.
68-80 With both lamps full power
    68-71 Res temp
Humidity % It's a struggle. This place is so dry plus winter now. I have a large capacity humidifier coming in a few days. The little one I have struggles as both tents top out at about 35-40%.
VPD Not even close yet...see above..lol
I'm pleased so far. Anxious to see how temps do with a crowd in there.

It's a work in progress. Getting more green by the day. All welcome to join me. Love meeting growers.

  2. I love it and congrats I have lived in ohio before. Melonfarm tent I have had a 5x5 and a 3x3 in the past. Vivosun I have had a 600 watt hps. Still rocking hps and mh but ipower. Also have nice fans oscillating from vivosun and ratchet ropes ph pen tds meter etc. The point is I still use an a lot is the same as you. I'll be following your journal. I just finished 1 about glookies strain and currently have a new 1 with ayahuaska purple and blueberry.

Good luck good job and good setup. I see a bright future for you.

  3. Welcome aboard. Definitely going to be checking out that grow. Sounds Barney to me..lol. I'm a mixed bag of beans on this grow. Whatever cracks n comes up I'm growing. No telling how old these beans are. Got some fastbuds seed coming Monday. When they all crack I'll need another lamp for the big tent.
Big lamps are awesome and it was hard for me not to go that route but I'm trying to learn some new things I guess.
I'm pleased with the tents so far. This is my first grow in one. Always built a box cabinet before. Tents are definitely cheaper and easy.
    Thanks for stopping in.

  5. Awesome, sounds good to me.

  6. Had to adjust my screen. Initially had it to low for this old guys back. Now its a pretty good height when I sit on a 5gal bucket. I'll tweak a few things and I'm ready to go.

  9. Week 2 Update fems n autos

Here in week two I'm seeing some nice growth start of the fems with most autos still in the seedling stage. Moving along I'm still in the grow space tweaking mode and look for ways to improve daily.

Today is time for the fems to be fed. Last feeding i bumped it up to 700..oops. Didn't mean to do that on the first week but it happened. They did okay. I'm moving on.

  11. A bit too early for the nutes??? Be kind to those young roots, if they get damaged now the whole grow is F'd. ??? Have you done this before? & they survived? :D

  13. Yeah man, I've had them come up kinda crispy before with to hot of a mix but if they are watered properly most will bounce back quick. I'm not familiar with autos yet. Only had regs when I used to grow.

  14. When I started reading into nutrients I wanted something I could use in hydro and promix. I can with this stuff. Read some good reviews and went for it. I'm hoping it does a good job. I've overfed them once and got away with it so yeah I'm doin it again..lol. The new growth is coming up a nice green so maybe they are happy.

  15. Training Begins
The stems are sturdy now and they are growing fast. Time to bend her over and start to bring forward what's below. No need to wait till they hit the screen.

  16. Things happening at the gm440 casa.

*I tell y'all. My mind thinks nothing but growing lately. Expectedly so after all those years on ice..lol
Got a lot to do today. New seed arrives from Fastbuds, need to prep some 3gal pots and get them ready for new life.

*The new Govee remote hygrometer/temp is here for my big tent. So far the temps are doing well in both tents being vented by one fan. I have grown to like the Govee line of things. Their smart humidifier links to this and does it all automatically for me. Just add water.

*A new 6" booster was added to the small tent. I like this little fan. Plastic and lightweight. Nothing but a glorified oversized computer fan really. Has a great speed control included and is very quiet. Moves plenty enough air from the lamp. I plan on putting the new 480w in there. I'm sure it will generate more heat so I'm ready if it does. The 400w will move into the big tent with the 300w Adiding lamp for autos.

*Warming mats...bought two. Never used them before till now. The autos in the promix were so cold. That can't be good. Plugged in the mats and covered it with folded up grow bags and placed tray and pot over the fabric. They seem to get pretty warm so I figured a little buffer would be needed. I don't want them to cook..lol. So I plugged the heater into a timer. It kicks on every so often. Hopefully that will help them develop. Cold roots don't do very well.

*Worm Castings...my favorite foliar spray. I call it my JerryCurlJesus juice. Add a dash of silica and a splash of CalMa. Best shit on the market.. literally..lol

*VPD...I had been having some issues with this important veg and seedling meter. I can now say I'm getting there and the number have been staying close to or dead on the vpd chart.

More to come. Scroggy screen play is just around the corner.

  17. Thanks for this picture with the fam on top of the light I keep wondering how well heat will be removed since hps instead has the hookups air cooled but then again everyone says led doesn't have near the heat. Right now I have hps but I'm going LED after another grow or 3

  19. I have plenty of experience with the big lamps. These LEDs are a lot more manageable. They throw off heat but nothing like a 400-1000w hid. At half the cost to run and less heat it makes growing just a little easier.

  20. Some training started. I start laying them over as early as possible. Once the main stems hardens a bit I start bending her down. Once she's bent over I remove a single leaf from that side exposing new branching sites.
No need to wait till they hit the screen. Training starts early and will continue till the flower stage is in it's full final lap.

This lil lady. The LA Amnesia. She's a bit behind in growth from the other two. None the less she's starting too. Leaned her over n removed a leaf to expose the not so developed shoots to the light. They will emerge in a day or so.
