Hey guys, im starting to plan my first indoor grow after a mostly successful year of enjoying the great outdoors. so i'm stuck with 2 things, and instead of making a seperate thread for each, i'm posting them both in here. i'll be growing clones in an NFT system under a 400w HID (both mh and hps). the nft channels are 150mm long. 100mm wide, 50 mm deep. what would be an optimal distance to space the plants, so that they get an even amount of light, enough light needed to grow well, yet not too far apart so that im not sacrificing the number of plants in my channels? when it comes to ventilation, and covering the smell with carbon filters. To my understanding i need one fan and filter for air in, and another fan and filter for air out. is this correct? or will one fan and carbon filter suffice? thanks in advance for any help you have
As far as the fans, how big is your grow space? In most smaller cases you can use a fan for exhaust, and a carbon filter, but you do not need a fan for intake, or a carbon filter at the intake. Usually the negative pressure from fan at exhaust, and an open air intake will suffice. I have never grown using the system you are, but with my 400w HPS, I get it to about 18 inches from the plants. That works for me in my setup, not sure about yours. You just don't want it too close that you will burn them, nor too far away causing them to stretch. Good luck. Peace.
the grow space hasnt been finished yet, im still deciding which grow tent to buy. the tent will probably be around L 2m x W 2.5m x H 2m the tent will probably be locked inside of a small shed, will this shed help with the smell?
