2 Questions For The Pros

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by Baldheaded Rasta, Jul 18, 2014.

  1. So I have 2 quick questions...if somebody can help me out or point me in the right direct. I did a few searches but I may not be searching the right key words..

    1. So what would be a great top dress or some sort of soil addition for preflower/flower??? I'm growing in BAS's "Living Soil" going to be switching to flower in a week or two.

    2. The most important question! What would be a great book for ORGANIC MJ growing for beginners??? This is my first grow and I decided organic is the only way to go! I would love to read a book that has all the info I need to be dangerous! And when I say a book for beginners, I'm not talking about those type of books that only scratch the surface of each topic. I want a book jam packed with information but an easy read.

Any info would be great!! And I appreciate you stopping by!

  2. The organics section speaks highly of a book called "Teaming With Microbes " I've read a few scripts out of it from the FAQ link. Definitely seems to really give you an idea of how your soil works - if you get that much down, any plant you grow will be certain to get exactly what it needs to THRIVE, not just marijuana. From there on your only other information you need to really know are your marijuana training techniques, a a plan.

That's easy. Come up with the very best, freshest, most viable vermicompost (not heavy, dense worm castings but vermicompost) you can. Mix a little kelp in with it and put a solid 1 1/2" - 2" topdressing on all of your plants.

Thanks bro, I'll check that book out!

Hey thanks! I've already started reading that thread, deffenetly great info! The reason I was looking for a good book is because books are always a great go to point of reference. I have the grow bible and read it from cover to cover. Till this day, I still flip thru it for info. I think it's always great to have books, there a point of reference you can put your hands on if for whatever reason the internet isn't readily available to you.

Do you have any info for question3?

Thanks again for stopping by, I really appreciate it!!

If I remember correctly, you'll find some good info here -

Coconuts are seeds - really big seeds which are loaded with all kinds of things to help that seed get started in life, such as enzymes, which are crucial to Nutrient Cycling and also Cytokinins which help regulate growth and development. Any pure coconut water will do - you dont want preservatives. VitaCoco is one brand that comes to mind and should be used at around a quarter cup per gallon of water. Aloe Vera juice compliments it nicely.

With Aloe Vera, would you say about 1/4cup/gal as well?

  11. Since I already have this thread going...I have another question

    http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1307645-First-Grow%21%21%21---Organic-Northern-Lights-Pc-Grow/page__view__findpost__p__20320468

Please take a look at my plant. I think she's starting to show signs of either heat stress, lack of water, overwater, or possible K deficiency. Maybe a combination of multiple. I think the k deficiency is a bit of a stretch but due to my lack of knowledge I couldn't definitively rule it out. Whether you reply here or my journal all help appreciated!!!
