Just wanted to update anyone that was interested in how this setup is working for me.

I built a new setup as an upgraded version of the original build due to the 1/2" drain being too small for my liking.

I took a 2 gallon ebb&flow expansion bucket and used the port at the bottom as the water inlet from the external reservoir water pump.

I used a 3/4 ebb&flow drain fitting with the screen as the gravity drain at my desired water level.

I built the external reservoir out of a heavy duty 10 gallon storage tote, take a look at the pics.

Two things I love are getting stoned and building stuff! 20190327_181833.jpg 20190327_181854.jpg 20190327_182015.jpg 20190327_182036.jpg 20190327_181933.jpg

  2. Man DWC is really tempting but it’s over my head

  3. Man I used to think the same thing about all hydroponics. Once you get the hang of the daily tasks and what to look for, it's a walk in the park.

  4. I absolutely agree. I mainly do flood an drain for everything I grow and all my set ups are DIY...

  5. And now I used the PH prefect line so I can make fresh nutrient solution and leave my plants alone for days at a time without touching them.

  6. True, my line has pH buffers that keep my pH between 5.5-5.8, which makes topping off and maintaining the system super easy.

  7. Hi
I am growing plants that are 5 ft. Tall
A 5 gallon bucket isnt large enough imo
    I have switch to 30 gallon tot's .
Straight up the roots are filling up the 30 gallon tot's.

  8. I've grown 3ft tall plants with less than 5 gallons and yielded over 4 oz with just a 30 day veg and 150w hps. You can get all the fruits of your labor without having 5 ft plants.

Plus, my current project is working with a tent that is 2x2x4

My last plant in a 5x5x8 tent was 4ft tall in a 2 gal pot full of hydroton sitting above a 6 gal reservoir with a 24/7 waterfall and I yielded 7oz. The 5 gal bubble bucket next to it yielded 5oz with a 30 day veg. 20181229_112607.jpg

  9. So I was messing around with water cycles instead of running the water pump 24/7, and discovered my 2 gallon bucket drains completely back into the res thru the pump.

Never ran ebb&flow before, would it benefit to run water cycles instead of 24/7?

  10. Imo yes. I've started experimenting with the wicking method and my plant seems to love it. You can see it at the end if my strawberry video as it is now, but a month ago a baby blue dream auto was put on 15 minute wick cycles every 2 hours. 3 gallon reservoir.

  12. Just wanted to post a few pics to update. Today she is 4 weeks into flowering. She has been running at 1.1 EC/67F/5.9pH the last couple days. I have been running the water pump 24/7.

  13. Might help if I post the pics haha

Buds could be bigger in my opinion, but she is getting frosty and she is putting off a lovely aroma. Never ran this strain or breeder before, so not sure what to expect. 20190408_004933.jpg 20190408_004939.jpg 20190408_004951.jpg

  14. If I make a DWC bucket or two would you be willing to help me throughout the grow? I’d like someone with some experience to bounce things off off as I go. I’ve been running hempys so I don’t think I’m too far away from DWC In regards to understanding the way hydro works.

  17. Another update because I am really impressed with growth in coming into the 5th week.

I know those couple of fan leaves have a little burn on them, I didn't want to remove any of them because they are still nice solar panels for that main cola. 20190409_234513.jpg 20190409_234536.jpg 20190409_234642.jpg 20190409_234702.jpg

  18. Looking for opinions for Barney's Farms Blueberry OG.

I'm at day 43 since I saw preflowers, which is 52 days since flipping to 12/12. I'm starting to see a few amber trichomes but most are milky and theres some clear ones scattered throughout.

Should I just wait for the rest of the clear trichomes to turn milky before flushing? Should I start flushing now?

  19. Nobody? Lol

  20. Depends on the effects you’re looking for. But you’re within 7 days or so of starting to flush it’s really up to you and your preferences.
