2 400w vs 1 600w on a light mover- opinions?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Magnum420, Jul 11, 2011.

  1. The goal here is to flower 10 to 12 plants get the best yield and quality using rather the 2 400 or the 1 600 on a light mover.the plants will be set in 2 rows of eather 5 or 6. They will be grown in soil ant be flowerd once they reach a foot tall so when there done flowering they shud be under 3ft tall. Now the reson why I'm making these changes is kuz my 1k light is to much heat and I was looking for a difrent setup. So I'm just asking for ur opinions thanx

  2. Anyone? Any info any opinions?

  3. I would put the 1000 cooltubed on a light mover, and maybe put the 400's in there too

  4. My grow room gets prety warm with the 1k air hood llight and u want me to put a cuple mor lights?

Could you run an ac line? Or get a portable ac

  6. Ya I do have a small a/c unit in my grow room but when I drop the temp under 72 for some reson the unit freezes over then I hav to chisel the ice off, so with the unit set at 72 the room on a 108 temp outside reaches high 80 to low 90

Could you run a co2 system? Of you run co2 you can deal with higher temps with no problems

  8. Well I really just wanted to stay with thos 2 options, 2 400 side by side or a 600 on a light mover.

I dont really see that cutting heat, like I run a 600w Hps but I've never had temp problems in my closet, I have a portable ac in my room and the light Is just open air, but I hear people at that 400's make alot of heat for the light produced (400w=50,000lumens and a 600w=95,000 lumens)

  10. Well I'm sure my grow room which is my shed placed in the middle of my back yard with no shade wasn't the best choice even tho its insulated on all 4 walls including the top, I'm starting to think the insulation is working against me, what ever heat the light creates the insulation dose it's job and keeps the heat in?

    Quite possible

  12. You should probably invest in a new air conditioner, that would balance out your temps

  13. Between the 2 setups what wud put out the least heat with the most yield?

  14. Anyone one els hav any opinions ?

Be aware that that answer comes from no experience with light movers, I would plainly take a 600 over 2 400's without a light mover lol
