1st vape = massive panic attack? need help

  1. Ok so abut 2 years ago i bought a vaporizer. So we had been smoking some really nice stuff. I had never used a vape before and so we let it heat up and vaped about 2 big bowls back to back. About 3 minutes later the husband and i both had massive freakin panic attacks. It was so bad i didnt even smoke for like 2 months, though i was having heart problems or something. I know it sounds crazy but i guess im a hyperchondriac abouth anything health wise. Anyway, threw the vaporizer out and never looked back. Long story short, im having surgery on my stomach and cant have any smoke. So the only way i could get high are edibles or vaporizer. So i have an iolite on the way. Im just scared it will happen again. I know now that i should not have just sat there takinghit after hit. But if i go slower can vaporizing be a better experience? Thx for any help

  2. vaporizers are definitely better for you but its a different stone than smoking.i feel like vaporizers are better for medicating than just getting stoned.to me its more calm in low doses but everyones different.ive had anxiety from bud but it was cuz i smoked too much or i mixed strains. theres alot of things it could have been, it could have been the strain you guys smoked or the vape could have been cheap and gave off gases or alot of other things. i dont know if i would jump on a vape so soon if it made you guys feel like that.do you have a friend that has a vaporizer that you guys could try? that might let you guys know if you like that stone over smoking enough to buy 1. whenever you guys smoke or vape just take 1 hit and see how it makes you feel.if youre alright after a few minutes take another 1 if you would like to smoke more but limit yourself to 2 or 3 at most.1 or 2 if you havent smoked in awhile. and whenever you get bud try to stick with indica or hybrids since pure sativa or even sativa dominant hybrids can cause anxiety for some people(me sometimes). theres alot of factors to why you guys could have felt that way.

    If you worry about panicking, you more than likely will. If you tell yourself, nothing bad will happen...you're not going to have a heart attack and just treat it like you do when you normally smoke...you'll be alright. Obviously that's with taking it slow. If you get ripped like you did the lady time you tried it, kinda hard to control where your mind goes.
     
  4. You could have gotten too high... You might want to get a vape were you can change the temperature it can make a difference in your highs. You really get what you spend, when it come to a vape. What vape did you have before? And try eating something if you fell panicky, it will help your low blood sugar.
     
  5. Thanks guys, yeah the last one was just a generic cheap plug in kind and we smoked waaay to much at once. The new one is a Iolite handheld one. Im broke now and smoking much less potent weed too lol. Dont know anyone that has one but im just crossing my fingers that i like it. I guess if i dont have a choice then.....ill try the just a little at a time idea. Im really sensitive to certain strains. Had some blue dream and that stuff there made me panicky everytime and couldnt even smoke it. Wish me luck :)
     

  6. A lot of people do like that one. I hope it will make you happy...

    Yeah, I get that way with weed sometimes. Just take it easy and go slow so you don't over do it. Remember that vapes get you way higher than smoking. And have food with you just incase. It helps to eat if you are too high. :wave:
