Hey ive posted a couple times with a few concerns but it looks like my plant is doing fine IMO. Here are a couple pics. Remeber this is my 1st time growing just want some opinions as to if my plant looks healthy and maybe a few tips to make it bigger and better? Lol thanks
Hey! Nice plant looks like it's drooping a little may be night time may be under watered idk. How long has it been growing since seed or clone?
What kind of soil are you using? It looks like it might need some nitrogen. Get rid of the tinfoil and give it more light.
Thanks for replying back everyone who did. I dont she is Thirsty I just watered her before I took that picture. As for more light I cant really do anything about that since im growing in my closet and this is my 1st time growing so i dont want to spend all this money and my plant wont even bud lol. My plant is about 1 month a 2 weeks i would say maybe on its 3rd week, i only water it when i feel it needs water like when the soil is dry. I have organic soil My mother uses for her garden. Other then that nothing new. Also, y do you say take off the Aluminum foil its only reflecting the light back to the plant i think thats helping Let me know
The thing with aluminum foil is it also absorbs light. I'm not sure how much, i think like up to 40%. If you have something really bright white like a book cover might work better. Also, your light doesn't look like the correct spectrum if you're still vegging. This doesn't really matter i suppose as long as you're ok with a slower grow. May lose some yield too. Great job so far dude, really coming along Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Thanks. Dang i never knew that Aluminum foil also absorbed the light.. thats something useful to know Thanks Also what do you mean by you dont have the correct light spectrum do u mean the color of the light? Thanks again
Hey TheAnswer thanks So the numbers to the left are the Lumens? or is that the number on the right? Since im only a beginner im not gonna go all out.. But lets say after this plant i want to grow another plant is it really nesseccary to have these lights our can you use one light throughtout the whole process? Thanks again
okay the numbers on left and right have same meaning, which is spectrum (or color) of light. the numbers on the right however, show you the spectrum that specific types of bulbs use. so a hps (used for flowering) runs in the 2200 range which is more of an orange light. hence the tint you see in most pics. so the real question i have for u is can i use one good light source throughout the whole process from seedling to flowering?
now on the other end of the spectrum is the blue or (daylight) spectrum. this is used for veg and a mh bulb is in the 5500 range, which results in a cooler more white light.
I was getting there, sorry. now as long as there is enough light, you're plants will still grow. having complete control over the type of light they receive will only increase rate of growth and possible yield. it is recommended, but not completely necessary, imo
Thanks again Pal. Im gonna try my hardest to get better at all this stuff. Just growing the plant in itself is beautful to watch n grow. But to be able to smoke your own Shit. Wow. thats the BEES KNEES lol
CFL's consume very little amps. Just get 2 clamp lights, an extension cord and a timer. Maybe $20 / $30 for it all. This will significantly help you. Also make sure your CFL is 6500K and at least 25W (real wattage). Also from what I've read, the lights shouldn't be more than 2" away from your plants. For reflective sheeting just get a poster / art paper with high brightness.
So keep the light source I have now and add this light source to that one? Thats obviously what u mean lol but im just trying to get all the info i need. Also i know weve been down this road b4 but since i havent been using Nutrients can i start using them? And what kind of nutrients would u use for Veg stage? thanks
not sure about specifics in soil, but for veg something high in N, for flower high in P you wanna start at 1/4 recommended strength then work your way up. look into AN or FF
