1St Time Grow And Need Help With Drooping Leaves

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Rahkin, May 29, 2013.

  1. This is my first time grow and I'm growing a Purple Blueberry backcross strain that I got from a collective. I choose to grow with CFL lights for my first time. I plan on upgrading after i get the hang of things.

Here is my current set up.

    14 - 23 W 2700k bulbs
    3 - 26 W 6500k bulbs
    Lumen output approx 28000
    4x4 indoor tent
    2 gallon pots
    Miracle grow potting soil
Foxfarm trio nutrients and soluble trio
    pH of soil is 6.2ish

I am having trouble figuring out what issues I am having. The issue seems to only be affecting the top leaves. They are drooping and are doing the canoe thing. I thought it was overwatering so I didn't water or feed for about a week and I see no improvement. The buds are growing though. The plants are in week 3. The drooping/canoeing leaves started when I put them into flowering. I have included pictures. Please help

I would say the answer is Nitrogen overdose. Back off the nutes or get one with a lower N ratio.

foilage that curls under like that, usually accompanied by rapid growth that's weak (stems are frail) all would indicate Nitrogen OD.

  5. Sounds good. Do you think I should do a flush?

Yeah, Id also get some good quality earthworm castings, if you can manage, remove the plant transplant style and put an inch or 2 of the castings under the root, if not, a good 2 inch topdress and water only until it sorts out. that would be after your flush

  7. You need more light.  The amount of light that you have is not even equal to a 250 watt HPS, yet you are trying to cover an area that requires a 1000 watt hps.  I would upgrade to an HID light and next time try to substitute that soil for some Fox Farm soil if you can find it.
