The first time I found a plant about a foot tall outside in my driveway for some odd reason and I transplanted it inside and put it under a regular light. Bad decision and it ended up dying. Now I have a 400watt Metal Halide/HPS and today I just bought a digital thermometer and a humidifier.. I had seedlings in half bottles and they sprouted but the soil was bought when I didnt know that it shouldnt have fertilizers in it and the sprouts were starting to look bad Today when I got the other equipment I saw that the temps are around 76-80 F. and the Humidity was around 30%(bad supposably) So I found a brand new humidifier in the garage and I put it in there so hopefully it helps out a bit. Im havin a little bit of troubles and since I have no way of taking pictures(no camera) im kind of on my own unless I can describe very well at whats going on. I just put the new lights up yesterday so im hoping to see better progress. They are only a few days old and if they dont get better from what I try to do, I will come here and try to get some pictures. Ive been reading up on growing and I think I know quite a bit but not as much as I would like. I guess thats all part of growing, sometimes you mess up. I had about 7 seedlings and now im at about 2 very good looking seedlings, 2 not so good looking seedlings and 2 bad ones. One already died because of how I planted it and probbaly because of the fertilizers in the soil(from what I hear they are called green balls of death lol) I transplanted the 2 good looking ones with new organic soil and in new pots instead of half bottles. Sorry for such a long post but this is just an introduction into my 1st grow. I hope these will make it and ill follow advice from anyone willing to throw some out at me. Ive already had some advice from a few people and I thank anyone that takes time to explain things to a new grower. Ill post more about their progress in a few days and ill try to get pictures. Thanks for reading(or skimming) EDIT: The humidifier is working
Ok so the temp. is staying in the 75-80 range and now that I put a humidifier the humidity is at 40% hows that? it might raise some more over night but ill check it out later. Let me know what you think despite pictures
Looks like they are doing alot better now that they are in different soil and more humidity. The temps got to a high of 83 with the door closed last night but I dont think that will hurt much. It stays within that all day mostly around 78-80 they are starting to grow already no transplant shock which I thought would happen. The leaves are already getting bigger and they arent stretching at all. Its looking good. Also the humidity is around 51% now and staying there. Might rise again over time but will fill everyone in on how things go.
Can anyone tell me the highest the temps should be at? Because they are staying at about 80-83.. i guess thats until i get another fan in there blowing out of the room. I know theres no pictures but come on now I need a little bit of confidence you guys know how it is on your first grow! lol... I can hardly leave the house cause im checking them and monitoring the humidity and temps. Ill try as soon as possible with pictures these plants are looking better especially after I put the Metal Halide and new soil.
Ok these things seem to be growing everytime I walk in there. Temps are stayin around 80 and the humidity is about 52%.. I dont water a whole bunch but I water often(dont worry the soil is dry when I do), often as in usually every day or every 12 or so hours.. and they seem to like it so I may continue but ill give more water as they grow.. And not as often of course. The leaves are darkish green and hopefully they will stay that way. I hope I can keep up the good work. They arent stretching any, they are just developing their leaves and I can already see where they are going to be growing upward with more leaves. Time for some sleep though seems like its been a short day but thats always good. Its hard to keep your mind off these things
They are on their 5th day and they are gettin bigger. The two fan leaves are out and the other set is starting rigth above which will probably be out in a few days so im lookin forward for more growth and ill update with pictures the next time hopefully.
pictures hopefully soon. alot of the seedlings died off when I didnt transplant to a bigger pot so I have 3 plants left which is fine. 2 are looking amazing other one isnt lookin the best but itll live. the 2 are only about 3 inches but they have like 16 fan leaves a few are just comin in but they are lookin bushy. the one thats not lookin as good is just gettin its 12 leaves in pictures should be coming within a few days even if it has to be cell phone pictures.
2 days later... now with 24 leaves.. i looked in there and the new set of leaves were standing straight up lol im guessing thats normal cause they are looking beautiful. ill hopefully update with pictures tomorrow or friday. thanks for checkin out anyways.
I know its hard to tell without pictures(which ive been promising) but about when should i top to get the 2 big colas on a plant? EDIT: nevermind. I read the Sticky.
ok so ive been flowering for a like 5 days now or something.. not the size I wanted cause they are only about 6-7 inches but one is already starting to bud.. the other hasnt shown anything yet so I topped it.
