1'st indoor soil grow - Cali Hash - 600w

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by Priest1129, Mar 20, 2010.

  1. I'm starting to flower my 4 California Hash plants today and I wanted to start a journal to document the progress. The 2 larger plants have been vegging for 8 weeks(topped at 4 weeks), the smaller 2, 4 weeks. I have a 50/50 soil/perlite mix. They have been living off whatever is naturally in the soil. The have not had a single feeding of anything until their first drink of Flora Nova bloom yesterday, the day before their move to 12/12. I gave them 5ml in a gallon of distilled water to hold them over until I get my Tiger Bloom on Monday. I'm not totally sure on my feeding schedule yet, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Any suggestions or comments at all for that matter, being my first soil grow. I'm attaching some horrible pics I just took, but I'm working with a shitty cam at the moment... :confused_2:

  2. ...Got my Tiger Bloom on Thursday and immediately hit them with 2 teaspoons per gal, and plan on going up to 4 tsp/gal for the duration of flowering. Kinda surprised on the acidity of Tiger Bloom! Had to use a shitload of ph up. I'm pleased to see the reaction of the girls being in the HPS. I'm picking up a better cam this week. I can't stand the piece of shit webcam I have. But speaking of the ladies, I wondered if anyone could help me out with something. Every time the lights go out, all the leaves seem to wilt or droop down almost immediately. I thought maybe it was a heat issue and the light was too close, but when the lights are on, they are perky and seem to be loving life until the lights go out and they droop almost straight down. Then, right on schedule about an hour before the lights come on they stand straight up like they know the light is about to come on....

    Is this normal ???

  3. I wouldnt use that much tiger personally. I have been using it for 2 grows and that has been waaaaay to much for my plants. I would start at 1/2 tsp per Gal.

Looking good! Cant wait to see these when they are done.

  4. That happends to all of mine too and always has. I assume its normal, like the plants going to sleep or something. I have no idea if thats true just my guess.

  5. Yeah it's pretty crazy. It really does seem like they go to sleep/wake up. As long as it's not an symptom of something being wrong, I'm fine with it. It was just startling to see them full of life 5 minutes before the lights went out, then 20 minutes later looking almost dead. I'm gonna take some pics in a little while. I wasn't planning on it until I got my new cam, but they've made so much progress I gotta get some pics...

Got my inline fan and ducting today so I can run some forced air through the reflector. Gonna get that and my homemade CO2 generators pumping. I'll take pictures tomorrow when I get everything up and running.... :metal:

  10. Looking for a new Co2 recipe....

I don't think my current proportions are cutting it. I used 2 cups of sugar with a half a teaspoon of both yeast and baking soda.(2 liter bottle) The only time I seem to get some good bubble action is when I shake it up. I think I'm gonna try 2 cups of sugar, and upping the yeast to 1 1/2 - 2 teaspoons. We'll see what happens....
