Just starting out. Got some bubble gum and blockhead from seedboutique. My girl and i are also starting a garden (like for veggies and whatnot), and we picked up some seed starter mix, which is sphagnum peat moss, vermiculite, and perlite. I'm going to be using party cups to start with. Is the starter mix ok to use in the cups to start with? I mean, its literally called what im trying to do, right?
You should be good. But, I would germinate the seeds using the paper towel method before planting them into the mix. Also, the mix is nearly impossible to get any water to absorb into it unless you mix it up in a bowl of water or something. And if you don't thoroughly wet it, there will be dry spots, and with seeds/roots being so small, dry spots can cause DEATH. Other than that, no problems.
