Currently Growing Pure Afghan. The tall one is about a month and a couple weeks in Veg. and the small one(in the pot , to the right) is about 1 month into veg. along with the regs(in the pot, to the left). The Top44(in the pot, in the middle) is about a week old. Please help by giving me feedback. This is my first grow and i've wondered how much will i yield PER PLANT for the Pure afghan and the regs? I just found out that i can control when i want the plant to flower by changing the light cycle from 18/6 to 12/12 hour light cycle. I have a 400Watt light above them, and when should i change the light cycle for each plant? when do you think is a good time for it to start budding? Thanks.
By 400W light, to you mean a 400W incandescent equivilent (aka 80W) CFL? Because that doesn't look like anything grown under 400W to me, you either have some serious light leaks, or your lights are insanely far away from your plants to cause them to stretch that much. Ideally, you really want to keep that long internode space very tight through veg so that you get nice full colas. What's going to end up happening to you when you flower is that your plant is going to stretch even more (seriously gets 2x as big at least in 2 weeks), all the little branches at the bottom will not have any light getting to them, you will have a couple buds at the tops, and then a bunch of little popcorn nugs. I'm seriously not trying to be hypercritical here, you've got the plant growing healthy, you just need to tweak your opperation a bit if you want to be producing big buds.
you can still pull off a decent yield for the younger plants that are not stretching for the light yet...i can only assume that 400 is an hps and not a mh? best thing to do is get a couple of floros and get them about 2-3 inches above the babies to bush them up and make them strong for flowering...if that one stretched is your pure afhghani, i would take a clone and put it in flower...final yield looks to be around 15-25 grams dried in its current state...sorry
I can deal with 15-25 grams. this is my first grow and i plan to learn alot from it and have the perfect setup for my next one, but if i do end up cloning the pure afghani later on and putting it in a well-suited environment, what would be the approx. yield per plant?
there is a massive number of variables, how much wattage, light placement, nutrition, watering, pot size, room space, veg time, etc, etc... just focus on geting the plants to grow properly first and worry about how much you can yeild once you've actually got a good idea of what the plants like.
same pretty much what sm666 said...there are so many different factors and variables...for instance...the afghani being more indica IMO is a hardier plant to grow...meaning easier to grow than sativa's which are really sensitive to nutes...my afghani is sitting in a 5 gallon planter, flowering under 600 watts...i am expecting at least 3 oz and thats being way conservative...
