so today i figured i'd make a growbox out of my xbox 360 box. The box itself turned out great covered in mylar but this is my first grow and i have a few questions. 1st question-I only put 1 13W CFL light in the box i figured i'm only growing one plant so it should be good enough. my question is will 1 13W CFl do the trick? 2nd question-I wanna do a 12/12 light schedule from seed to finish. I wanna keep the plant small and i dont really care about the yield since it's my first grow and it's just an experiment. 3rd question- Do you have to use nutes? 4th question- How bad will the smell be? Like i said before the plant should stay small under the 12/12 light schedule. I just wanna keep it as stealth as possible. 5th question- How long will this grow take from seed to harvest? So please try and help a new grower out here. I would post pictures but my camera is broken, if I get it fixed I will try an update with some pics. Thanks for any help GC!
question #1: It is recommended 100w per a plant but in that area I would use at least 2 23w probably 13w is hardly anything and the more watts the better the yield. question#2:Not really a question. But starting from 12/12 i would do 2-4 plants (half will be male). And you can always get rid of some If there is not enough room but can't add a grown plant there. question #3: No but they wont hurt. I suggest at the very least molasses as it will make your stuff taste better and up your yield and is cheap and easy to get (I use humbolt honey so i dont know the specifics) question #4: Depends on the strain i and couldn't be certain i havent had a grow that small. You can always somehow put a carbon filter on the fan. question #5: Very strain dependant. I'd say 10-14 weeks but never have tried it myself. That's also why I suggest more plants and light.
i'm so confused as to what makes people think a cardboard box would ever be a good idea to grow in unless it's just for a few clones, not for a permanent (10+wks) grow setup... if you're really going to do this, you will have to LST them a lot and hope they don't run into the bulb.
Not the xbox itself but the box it came in. I'm just growing this plant as a hobby I don't really care if it yields 1 gram or 100 grams. I'm just doing it to do it. Whenever I move out I plan on doing a larger grow. I consider this practice. If I can grow a plant in a carboard box I can grow one in a closet.
cardboard is the shittiest material to make a structure out of when you don't have a solid interior. imagine you drop something on it, fall on it, spill water on it, god forbid it catches on fire.
