hi, i was just wondering if you could take a clone of a clone once it grows big enough... the reason i'm asking is because i grew 2 plants with the idea of keeping one of them as a mother but it keeps growing.. and growing.. and growing.. and i dont know how to stop it getting so big.. i had to repot it because it was getting rootbound and it grew more.. lol so now i'm thinking of taking a clone of it, flowering the mother then take a clone of the clone and flower the mother again.. etc etc.. don't know if i'm making sense cause i'm baked.. hehe but i got it all figured out in my head.. but i dont know if you can take a clone of a clone.. sorry for babbling on..
yes, you can clone the clone of the clone and you can clone that clone too.. some people say that each generation of clone taken from a clone reduces the quality and potency of the WEED... meaning that each clone taken from a clone is weaker than the previous clone.. I have seen 20 generations (deep) of clones.... and... i have not witnessed a reduction in YIELD (or $$$) of potency.. Some people use mothers (mother plants) that they keep around for years so that they dont have to take clones from there clones, clones, clones and so on.. and NOW you KNOW _______________________________________________________________________________________ Chris Kaos chris@barnhardtenterprises.com Information Obtained: http://squidoo.com/thepot/
Yeah, it's my plan to take cuttings of successive generations (can you call a clone a generation?) and let that "mother" mature though flowering while vegetating the cutting. I don't intend to grow so much that I would be taking enough cuttings off a plant to keep it down to a manageable size. I think that is how folks who raise mother plants do it...grow the mother, prune it back by taking cuttings to root, and then let the mother grow some more. My little set up won't support that kind of action.

Cutting or Clones are a perfect genetic copy of the mother. A seedlings potency will increace for the first year of is life "Peaking" at 11-14 months. Then it will maintain it forever "Generations" are seed to seed I don't intend to grow so much that I would be taking enough cuttings off a plant to keep it down to a manageable size. If that is the case, I'll have to take a different approach. So far I have run three cuttings through my li'l box and have two more in there right now. Every one of these plants just wouldn't stop (or slow down) growing. Even by training them down and around the pot, One plant will fill the available space in my box within 2 months. When they get like that, I take cuttings to root and set the original plant outside. Now that the days are getting shorter, these three (3-5 weeks apart) are in various stages of flowering. I just don't have the heart to prune my plants and throw the cuttings away, and I don't have the room to root the number of cuttings it would take to keep the "mother" down to a manageable size. This fall, I'm going to rethink my indoor growing arrangements. I thought a small grow-box would be all I need but I'm beginning to see the need to expand. See what I mean?
HEY, THANKS A LOT...I now have my problem solved.. i got one in flowering nearly ready, one in veg which i was using as a mother.. i got a clone of it taking really well.. now when the one flowering is harvested the mother goes into 12/12 and the clone 18/6 until such time as its big enough to take a clone of it.. then when the one flowering is finished and harvested.. the first clone can go into flowering and the new clone can go into veg to be mother to yet another clone which will later on also produce me a clone for it to go into flowering.. (i'm getting confused again) lol.. but i figere that thhat way i can have a harvest of one plant approximately every 5 weeks...enough for me to be self sufficient .. thats if everything goes accrding to plan . and all this is thanks to all of you who since i started reading up here and asking questions you have thought me and given me answers....
Welcome to "Self-Sufficiency" man......I been away from the "Black Market" for 20 some years...it very freeing
